You were riding fast through the woods, your cape blowing in the wind. Somewhere here it had to be. Loki had told you that Hvergelmir connected all the nine realms with one another. It would be possible to use it to get to the different realms and that was what you wanted to use to get to Svartalfheim. The river from Asgard had brought you here and now you were searching in the forest for this tree.

Slowly your hope started to sink. It seemed useless to search for this portal tree.

Then a thick wall of leaves appeared. Triobrial slowed down and trotted along the wall of leaves. Something shimmered through it and made you curious. With a soft pull on the reins, the stallion stopped. Your hand reached out and pushed through the green leaves.

Suddenly, the petals rustled and branched cracked. A gateway opened, made of wood and green. Behind it, there was a wooden walkway. Like it was an instinct, you rode into it. It took you some time to ride till you reached your destination. From time to time you had passed gates. They showed different worlds. Some were filled with ice or fire. Others looked peaceful. The seventh gate you reached showed a world, dark and dusty. You knew you had reached Svartalfhei and rode into the landscape. The sky was black and the only light came from a black circle in the sky. It was surrounded by a golden glow that poorly illuminated the planet.

After some more time, you reached something that looked like a city. Black buildings stood there with lanterns, that sent out a strange black light. Your hood hung deep into your face as you made your way through the streets.

Suddenly, someone called for you.

"Hey, you on the horse, who are you?" It was a dark elve.

"I was sent here to negotiate with the dark elves about Prince Loki's release," you answered, your voice strict and confident. The elve laughed, causing a cold shiver to run down your spine.

"If that's so, please follow me," he smirked, walking down an other street. It took a while to get to what seemed like the palace. Elves stood on both sides of the wooden gate that lead to a place, that looked nearly like the courtyard of a medieval castle. Black dust rose as your feet met the ground. A dark elve wanted to take the stallion from you but it stood up and neighed. Then the black beauty galloped out of the gate. You knew he would come to you if you needed him.

With big steps, you entered the halls and went to the throne room. You pushed open the doors with maybe a little bit too much energy. On the throne, one of the elves was seated. He had long white hair and ice-blue eyes. He looked down on you intensely as if he wanted to burn holes into your soul. But you stayed strong and didn't lose any confidence. You knew what you were here for.

"Aah, I see, the Midgardian woman. You are surely here to get your toy back." His voice was sharp and whistled like metal.

"Indeed. I am here to negotiate about Prince Loki's release," you said, letting the comment about Loki slide. He was not a toy but you knew he would use this on you if he knew.

"Verry well then. I'll tell you what we want for your oh so loved prince. But first, why are you here?" he asked. You were straddled by this question for a moment. You had told him why but why not repeat it again.

"I was sent here to negotiate about Prince Loki's release," you repeated coldly. The elve smirked and rose from his seat.

"So you are here because Odin did sent you here? It has nothing to do with your relationship with the prince? I mean, he took you here and was worried thick about you at our last encounter." Anger rose in you but on the outside, you stayed as cold as a stone.

"Yes. He is a tool for my purposes and since the Queen and King wanted someone to negotiate with the dark elves about their son, I saw my chance to get closer to my destiny." It hurt you to say this but you knew, he would take advantage of this otherwise.

"I see. So, to my requirements. In exchange for Prince Loki, I want the Nephilim." His words let the blood in your vines freeze.

"You'll get it. But before I need the proof that the Prince is well," you said, your heart beating fast. The elve nodded shortly and whipped his hand. It was as if Harry Potter's invisibly coat was whipped from Loki's form as he appeared next to the throne. He was bound and gagged, a small cut on his cheek. Your pupils blew up as you saw him and your heart crumbled as you noticed tears running down his cheeks. He had heard every word you had said and was believing them. Unnoticed, your stylus slid into your palm.

"Are you convinced that he is fine?" the elve spoke. You nodded and turned towards him.

At first, I wanted to finish this in one chapter but I got too long and so, I split it into two parts. Enjoy reading.
