ANASTASIA HAD always known she was adopted, well because Miranda had told her at a young age, yet finding out that news never made her feel any different towards the rest of the Gilbert family whom she was beyond grateful. growing up she only knew a little bit about her biological family and their background. Anastasia has yet to know them personally or anything about their whereabouts. all AJ truly has gathered to know is that she was born in NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA where her biological father's family is rumored to be living. she also learned that her biological mother is originally from PORTLAND, OREGON and that pretty much anything else about her mother's family seemed almost nonexistent.
ON HER FIRST birthday her biological parents gave her away to their close friends who had just also recently adopted a daughter due to complications with getting pregnant, Miranda and Grayson Gilbert. Anastasia's parents had given her up due to some unknown family problems that had occurred a few months after their first birthday back in 1994. now her million-dollar questions are, what did happen back in 1994? why take such extreme measures that resulted in her getting adopted? did she truly care for these questions to be answered?
BACK TO HER after Miranda told her the news of her being adopted she like any other curious little kid wanted to know more, so she did in fact she started digging deeper. a part of herself was interested in finding out why her parents gave her up, not that she was necessarily complaining that they did she loved her family now. so in the process, she somehow convinced her adoptive parents that in her new school they were taking a 'school trip' to new Orleans which they believed her since they've never had a rebel stage with Anastasia. she then traveled to New Orleans with her best friend she had made in new york, Aaron. in new Orleans she found out that on her father's side she has an aunt just about maybe two years older than herself, named ANDREA. there really was no trace of them after her birth, it was like her biological father's family just fell off the face of the earth. now on her mother's side, that's where everything had gotten tricky, she didn't find out anything the only knowledge she has is stories Miranda had slipped to her over the time. her mother had a lot of siblings but didn't really get along with most of her family, except her older brother MALACHAI who has unfortunately been dead for years, which brought Anastasia to a dead end yet again. Anastasia's brith mother found out she was first pregnant at a very young age, because of her age she did what a scared teenager would do she ran away with Anastasia's birth father to his hometown and Anastasia's birthplace New Orleans.
SO BIO FAMILY research project was a bust, she didn't find out as much as she wanted to yet she was still determined on doing so one way or the other. a while before the tragic death of her adoptive parents Anastasia had gotten accepted into a private school in New York she had been intrigued by, although she didn't want to go because she knew it meant moving away. she eventually did take up the offer after sibling convinced her, about a year into the school she came back due to the tragic death of her adoptive parent although her time to grieve with her siblings didn't last long since she had to go to New York and continue on with her life.
ANASTASIA HAD HER small trips back to Mystic Fall at a time to visit her siblings and during one of them, she got to meet the infamous SALVATORE brothers her sister talked so dearly about. the moment Elena found out about the brother's secret about them being vampires Anastasia was with her. this caused a huge fight between the two sisters when Anastasia found out that Elena was trying to convince one of the brothers to compel her to forget everything. out of anger, she went back to New York to stop them from successfully compelling her. Anastasia went into full detail in her research on vampires although it took her a while is found some vervain kept it on her at all times. although she forgave Elena, didn't mean she trust her.
THEN THERES him. new mysterious boy in Mystic Falls. why mystic falls? although his appearance a all bad to look at, after finding out about the supernatural AJ became a little paranoid not that there was a reason to not be. anyway with him she refused to let her guard down although she wasn't entirely on watch.
