You're Not Alone

"What Sophie?" Levi turns to look at me.

"Nothing," I stare ahead at the Titan running away. "Eren's not dead. She would've crushed him if she wanted to. Armin told me that she took his hood down to see who he was, that's what makes me think she is looking for Eren or I. She needs us for something. But she also needs her hands to fight, so she's been holding him on her tongue."

"It is possible she just wanted to savor her quarry," Levi's voice is as stone cold as always. "In which case it's likely he's already been swallowed. If so, he's dead."

"He's alive!" Mikasa growls.

"Someone's optimistic," Levi glances at Mikasa.

"If you had just done your damn job and protected him like you were supposed to, we wouldn't be having this conversation!" Mikasa yells at the captain.

Levi's eyes widen just slightly and he turns so he's facing Mikasa as we pursue my brother and the Titan that has him.

"Oh, I see now. The 'childhood friend', right? Suddenly it's all making sense." Levi realizes Mikasa was the one that Nile was talking about back at our trial. The girl my family took in. "Right. For the sake of argument, let's narrow our goals. First, we forget about taking her down."

"No way. She's killed too many of our people for that. She's dead." I glare.

"She's got defenses that none of us have been trained to deal with," Levi states. "I'm telling you it's a lost cause. Instead, we'll act in your assumption that Eren is alive, and focus only on freeing him before she exit the forest. I'll handle all the cutting. You two find a way to distract her."

"Right," mikasas voice is strong and full of anger.

I'm trusting Levi on this. I could just shift into my own Titan form, but I believe in his plan. He's my captain and I need to trust him.

Mikasa and I go on ahead and speed up so we pass the Titan. I put my hood up so she doesn't realize that it's me. Mikasa hangs down by her feet, while I'm at eye level.

I turn around to face her. My hood comes off and her eyes meet mine. They widen a little and I smirk at her. She then realizes our plan and spins around, throwing a punch at Levi. I gasp, thinking he's about to get demolished, but in a flash he cuts up her arm and stabs her in the eyes.

Levi jumps off her and reloads his blades, then somehow manages to cut almost every one of her vulnerable spots within a second. He's unbelievable.

The Titan slumps against a tree while holding her nape. She looks worried now. If I was her, I would also be panicking. Levi is probably the only human that could destroy her.

He goes for more attacks, targeting her arm mostly. Mikasa and I hang back and watch Levi do his thing. We would only get in his way.

Her arm falls limply to her side and I look over at Mikasa who has noticed that the Titans nape is wide open. She changes direction and heads straight for it.

"No, don't do it!" Levi yells.

I watch the Titans hand swing up as she tries to hit Mikasa. Quickly, Levi gets in the way and I see him step off her hand. There's a flash of pain on his face but he recovers.

Levi launches towards the Titan, slicing her mouth open. Her jaw slacks and we can clearly see Eren on her tongue. I watch Levi go and retrieve my brother.

"Got him," Levi shouts. "It's time to go!"

Mikasa and I smile. We both see that Eren is unconscious in a ball of slime. He's covered in the Titans saliva. Nasty.
