And Geryon rose in armored garb
To guard the cattle kept in yard.
He owned in valley green and wide
Where giants keep and slaves he hides.

His armor smelt for all his heads
That number three and must be fed
On flesh of men to keep his health
To guard his keep and all his wealth.

So down from tower creature crawls
To answer dog who sent his call.
That warned aloud with dying breath
In hopes to cause his slayers death.

With spear he walks to face his foe
A shield in hand as down he goes.
His height is double normal mans
When full and upright giant stands.

And silence fills the valley grim
As setting sun their figures dim.
His heads in tandem bellow cry
That calls for demi-god to die.

"Who dares to tread my cattle yard
That giant Geryon jealous guards.
Regarding foe as feeble threat
Who ask for life as ranchers debt.

So give your life to giants hand
In valley green where hero stands.
Or die becoming Geryons feast
Who'll cook your flesh as though your beast."

And hero laughs with thund'rous voice
That leaves no doubt to godlings choice
Their arms they ready, hearts they still
In hopes that death to foe they'll deal.

Then man and giant leap to clash
With fury great and very brash.
The hero swings his oaken rod
His gift from elder forest god.

And giant thrust with sharpen spear
To strike his heart with deepest fear.
So blow for blow the pair do fight.
On through the day and all the night.

At break of dawn the giant falls
Like all who answer Somnus call.
The hero readies final blow
To lay the deadly giant low.

And smites his head repeating hit
To send the monster down to pit.

Then hero frees the giants slaves To each he gold and rations gave

Then hero frees the giants slaves
To each he gold and rations gave.

He gained from monsters tower keep
Where beast was known to often sleep.
Then sent them all about their way
To world were future trials lay.

And freeing slaves then gathers cows
From cattle yard where creatures grouse.
To ship he takes the lowing beast
To king of Tyrne perhaps for feast.

But Mars did cast a magic chant
In hope to hero troubles grant
And sends a swarm of stinging flies
That scatters cattle far and wide.

Across the isle and far from home
The cows now wand'ring all alone.
Away from hand that cattle caught
A curse that god of war had brought.
