Taymor rubbed his belly as he watched his friends and family around him, they were all currently getting drunk or outside popping fireworks— while he sat down inside, drinking out of a welch's bottle to feel included. It was 30 minutes away from being 2021, and he couldn't help but notice how he would be entering the new year. He'd be entering the year happily, with a stable relationship and a little one on the way. The boy smiled to himself, taking a sip from the fake liquor as he looked around at the people around him. Dee, Ben and Nick were outside popping fireworks— his grandmother and Joe were comversating. Monique and a few other family members were just all over the place.
The boy was content with this moment, looking down at his belly curiously. He could feel the slight movement, like a guppy was in his stomach. The small boy laughed to himself. Before he met Joe, it was just him, Nick and his grandmother. He didn't have any other family, his mom abandoning him at birth and his dad dying in a car accident at the young age of seven. Taymor looked pass it all though, he kept himself happy with the help of his best friend and his grandmother. Now, he had a few new editions. He had never really experienced having big family get together and family reunions period. It was nice, knowing that there was people who cared about him.
" Bae, cmon," Joe stated, snapping the boy from his thoughts. Tay looked up at the man curiously, giving him a questioning look. " Let's go pop a few fireworks, youn gotta stay long i just want some pictures." the man continued, earning a nod from the small boy. Joseph grabbed one of the boys hands, carefully helping him up before he lead the mocha colored boy outside into the cool air. Taymor let out a small breath, watching the puff of white air form in front of him. He clutched his coat closer to his body, allowing Joe to lead him out towards the street with the others.
" Aht, aht! Ain finna scare my lit niece," Dee stated, motioning for Taymor to go back in the house. The couple laughed, shaking their heads at the man in front of them. Darreon raised an eyebrow, before glaring at the two. " I serious lit bitch! Take em inside, na." he continued, finality evident in his tone. The couple explained what they were currently doing, before Dee finally gave in and allowed the small pregnant person to pop a few fireworks that were on the smaller side.
Joe recorded Tay as he lit up a sparkler, laughing as he watched him wave it around in front of him with a smile. Nick and Ben approached the boy, handing him another one before they joined in the happy laughter. " So, when we doing this gender reveal?" Nick asked, grabbing the small sticks from Tay once the sparklers went out and threw them into a trash bag. Taymor shrugged his shoulders, thinking on when his next doctors appointment would be.
" Uhhh, we can plan it for maybe in the middle of this month," Tay spoke, thinking to himself. He lightly tapped on his belly, a new habit he had grew as his bump grew bigger. " My doctors appoint is in two weeks, so i'll give you the envelope then." he finished, dismissing the conversation one Nicholas responded with a small nod.
" Tay, you ready to go inside?" Joe spoke up, sliding his hands around the boys waist and resting them onto his belly. The small boy shook his head, wanting to watch more fireworks get blown into the sky— seeing as they were really pretty and interesting. Joseph nodded, keeping his stance behind the boy as they both watched their friends and families have fun. Taymor relaxed into his boyfriends arms, occasionally laughing at the people in front of him.
" It's almost 2021," Tay whispered, being sure the man above him could hear. Joseph looked down at him, nodding his head a bit. " Are you happy? With us.. with this?" the boy asked, gesturing down to the baby that was currently growing inside him. Joe looked up at the night sky above them, thinking to himself. Was he happy with Taymor? Was he happy with having a baby with him? He was ecstatic, he couldn't be more blessed with what he has to come in this new year. A family. A sweet, beautiful family that he cherished more than anything.
" I couldn't be happier with what i have, li gorilla." Joseph stated, nudging his nose into the boys neck and taking a deep breath. " You and our little princess is the best thing that has ever happened to me for real, I couldn't be more grateful." he stated, finality evident in his tone. A blush came across Tay's cheeks, suddenly growing hot under the mans touch. But it wasn't from lust— it was from love. He had never experienced something so genuine from another person. He said was blessed to be sharing this moment with the man behind him and the baby inside him.
" Prince," Tay stated, looking up at him with a smile. The two were definitely going to be arguing over their child's gender for the next few weeks— seeing as Tay wanted a boy and Joe wanted a girl— or preferred. Either or, they would still love the child with all their hearts, no matter the gender of the little person. " It's definitely a boy." he continued, rolling his eyes as his boyfriend scoffed and shook his head.
" As mean as yo' ass than became? It's most def a girl," Joseph obliged, gently poking the boys stomach. Taymor rolled his eyes, silently disagreeing. The two laughed hearing Nick and Ben call out " team boy!" while Dee yelled " team girl!". They would all find out pretty soon. Monique ran out of the house, a wide smile across her brown cheeks. " One minute till 2021!" she yelled, causing everybody to run outside. Joseph pulled out his phone, beginning to record to get the memory of this countdown.
" 5, 4, 3.." The family all yelled, Tay and Joe looking at each other— their eyes full of love and appreciation. " 2.. 1..! Whewwwww!" everybody cheered once the clock struck twelve, loud fireworks booming across the city. Joseph placed his index finger under the boys chin, lifting his head up and placing a light kiss to his lips. They entered the new year together, as a family.

sorry for the late update guys! i just recently turned 16 ( january 10th ) & i had a big sweet 16 party! i'll share photos if y'all would like but that's why i took a small break! but i'm back now, hope y'all enjoyed the chapter 💚.
