{ Chapter 5: Date. }

Tom's POV
Today was the day. I had planned it all out and everything. For some reason, I was excited to go out with Tord. I know Tord meant it as "friends" but, what if he meant it as more?

I don't care though, I wouldn't date that commie if my life depended on it. He is kind of ahem, hot, but besides that I don't care much for us to date. We're just friends. It's still going to be awkward going out together alone, without Edd and Matt.

Tord was already at the coffee shop, so it was up to me to get there soon. I finished changing into something simple, but fine. I wore a button- up shirt with a jacket and jeans, which were all blue.
I was planning to sneak out of the house without Edd or Matt noticing like Tord did, but my plan didn't go so well.

"Tom? Where are you going?" I heard Edd call from the kitchen.

I was so close to reaching for the door knob and running out of there without saying a word, but my common sense made me turn around to face them.

"And why are you wearing that? Are you going on a date?" Matt asked.

"No no- me and Tord are hanging out today. " I awkwardly said.

Edd and Matt gave each other a look for a moment, before looking back at me.

"We got along better than I thought. " I added.

"Go ahead then, you both better be home by 11 AM." Edd raised an eyebrow, drinking his cola.

"Why wouldn't I be?" I smiled and ran out the door, looking both ways.
I guess I am walking today.

Tord's POV
I waited a while, maybe 30 minutes, at a table. The coffee shop was nearly empty for some reason today, but that's not a bad thing. Less people to deal with.
Soon enough, Tom ran into the coffee shop, looking like he had just ran a marathon.
I snorted, as he sat across from me.

"You have no idea what I have been through." Tom sighed, getting comfortable in his seat.

"Let me guess, bad traffic?" I snorted again.

"Wrong, Edd and Matt caught me sneaking out."

"Hm,, maybe you should have went in all black." I grinned

"Yeah, like that is less noticeable. Edd would have thought I was a robber and Matt would have thought I was the 'boogy man.' " Tom shook his head.

"Maybe the best advice is to not take my advice then. " I hummed.

"Yeah, no kidding." Tom rolled his 'voids' "Also- ahem, you look.. nice, to say the least."

I was wearing a grey T-shirt and a red jacket with jeans, but hey, it was better than my casual clothes. I put some effort into it.

I smiled at him. "You don't look bad yourself, Jeho."

"Thanks I guess." Tom shrugged.

After a while of talking, a waitress finally walked over to our table. "Sorry for the delay, what can I get for you today?" She asked.

"I'll just have coffee." I hummed, looking up at the waitress.

"Do you have any Smirnoff?" Tom asked.

"This is a coffee shop sir, not a bar. " The waitress raised her eyebrow.

"Oh, right. I'll just take a sweet tea then." Tom corrected himself

Once the waitress walked away, I looked back at Tom.
"If you wanted to go to a bar instead you could have just asked."

"No, just wondering if they had any here. They do not."

"It's a coffee shop, don't tell me you expected them to sell alcohol here." I chuckled.

"It's very unfortunate that they don't." Tom hummed.

"While we're waiting for our drinks, is there anything you would specifically like to talk about?" I asked him, resting my head on my hand.

Tom perked up at that. "Actually, yes."

"Well, What is it?"
"What is your job you were talking about the other day."

"Huh?" I acted confused.

"You said you had a job, but you got cut off by Edd. What is it?"

I thought of an excuse, since I wouldn't dare tell Tom about the red army. If he knew that I was the red leader, I would be dead. Besides, I don't want to lose his trust again.
"I work at an army- for training purposes of course." I spat out.

"You work at an army just to train? Don't you do anything else-"

"Nope, I just train." I said quickly. It was quite obvious that I was lying.

Though it was obvious, Tom went along with it. "Okay, then what do you do to get paid?"

"Well- uhm.. you see I-"

Tom narrowed his 'eyes' at me. He clearly knew that something was up and that I wasn't telling the truth.
I looked around for a distraction, and found one when I saw the waitress coming back with our found.
"Ah look, the waitress is coming to us with our food!" I said, pointing to the waitress behind Tom.

The waitress found our table and put our drinks down on it. I thanked her, not only for the drinks,, but the fact she saved my life back there. I got out my wallet and paid for the drinks, leaving a tip for the waitress as well.
The lady smiled and walked off with the money.
I had put my wallet away and picked up my cup of coffee, watching as Tom drank his sweet tea. It was mostly silent for the rest of the 'date',, before Tom finally spoke.

"I think Edd and Matt are on to us." He spoke.

I just raised my eyebrow. "What?" I said, urging for him to go on.

"When they caught me trying to sneak out, I told them I was going to hang out with you and they gave me a weird look." He explained.

"So?" I asked.

"I think they think that we are dating or something." Tom said, putting his sweet tea down.

"I don't mind, I could dig it." I smirked.

"What?- Tord!-" Tom glared at me. I could see a light tent of blush on his cheeks.

"I don't see a problem with that." I chuckled.

"God, your so weird." Tom rolled his 'voids'.

Maybe I was biting off more then I could chew, but it wasn't that too far off. Me and Tom we're getting along better, but I couldn't tell if Tom was in to me or not. It's hard to tell when he doesn't even have eyes to give off emotions with.
I'll be able to tell soon enough.

Finally, this chapter is done. Some people have been waiting for it, so this chapter is for you. (Even if this is a short chapter-)
Happy late- New Years! Hopefully this year will be better than 2020. I'm sorry for not posting more chapters as often as I said I was going to, I'll go back to my writing corner now- but I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
