"Depending on whoever you say it to, the meaning of your words can be mistakenly translated as an attempt to weaponised black mana using magi device as a medium," Roy explains it casually but those words are heavily dangerous.

I gape at Roy than frantically shakes my hands up in denial to the table.

"It's not like that. It's just when I looked back during the Lion Pride incident, I kept thinking about what could be done to improve, what step to cut to reduce wasting time. Since it was a delicate extraction procedure, doing too fast or too slow affect the patient's chances of survival. What's more efficient and what's lacking, those things kept bothering me, so," I pause when I realise that I'm rambling.

"Have you found the answers to your questions?" Maya asks, encouraging me to proceed with my explanation.

I nod. "I found the lacking and efficient part is the same."

"And that is?"

"The way to pinpoint the exact location of black mana when it is deeply rooted within its host. A skilled mage can somewhat feel the presence of black mana within its surrounding but from what I read, there is no way of telling if it is hiding amongst the monsters until they turned into the tainted."

Luna seems to agree with me when she says, "I see. The case with the Lion Pride is rare. After all, most monsters would already turn into a tainted monster because they cannot fight against their own will once its tarnished by black mana."

"What you're saying is compelling. Until now, mages and priests resorted to purifying tainted monsters. The longer the creature is under the control of black mana, the lower their chances to survive the purification."

Luda puts his hand on his chin after expressing his words.

"Those that cannot be saved had to be eliminated with our blades," Roy adds.

My gaze looks towards Lord Sol sitting at the head of the table. He's not saying anything. That's kind of... scary and nerve-racking.

"Five days."

Lord Sol finally says something.

"I will give you five days to organise your idea and present them."

Luda interject. "My lord, is that not too short a time for her to prepare?"

"I'm sure Iris can do it," Lord Sol says it confidently. "Besides, she wouldn't have said anything in the first place if she hasn't already thought of something."

This time the head elf directs his words to me. "You're basing the magi device from the magic derived from that skill, right?"

As expected of Lord Sol.

Without waiting for my response, Lord Sol continue speaking. "We will decide if you can proceed with creating the magi device after listening to your presentation."
