Hogwarts 1971 - September 1st
"Bye Mum, bye dad," The twins chorused to their parents, giving them a final hug before jumping on to the train.
The girls walked up and down the train, trying to find an empty compartment, jittering with nerves.
After a while, they had managed to find a slightly empty compartment. It had just one boy, who was more than happy to let them join him.
"Hi, I'm Lois Sullivan," Lois greeted the boy, excited to make her first friend.
"Benjy Fenwick," The boy smiled and held out his hand to shake Lois'.
"Nice to meet you Benjy. This is Rory," Lois gestured to her twin, who was looking out of the window, not really paying attention to the conversation until her name was mentioned.
"It's Aurora actually," She corrected her sister, and the boy smiled again. Aurora didn't like people using her nickname, unless she said they could. It felt like they would be getting too close to her before she even knew them.
The whole train ride, Benjy made conversation with Lois, and occasionally Aurora adding a comment or two. They had discussed what houses they were hoping for - Benjy and Lois both wanted Hufflepuff, but Aurora wasn't really sure. Aurora knew that she wouldn't be with her sister, as she was neither patient or fair. Lois and Benjy had talked the whole way, even continuing on the small boats when they were joined by another girl, Mary MacDonald.
Eventually, they were in the Great Hall, and nerves were coursing through Aurora. She had never been without her sister, and she didn't really want to.
The first few names went by quite quickly, and Aurora didn't really pay attention. At least until she heard a familiar name. "Black, Sirius,"
Lois and Aurora's mother had been a Selwyn before she was disowned, and thought it would be in their best interest to learn about the Wizarding World, before they were properly exposed to it.
Aurora had expected Sirius to go into Slytherin, as he was a Black, but by the nervous expression on his face, she could tell that wasn't where he actually wanted to go. The hat declared him to be in Gryffindor, and that was the end of it.
More names were called and Aurora zoned out again. When it came to Benjy's turn, Lois poked her twin's arm to get her to pay attention to the boy. Quickly, Benjy was placed into Hufflepuff, and ran to the table with a wide grin on his face.
The list seemed to be moving slower after that. A few people had caught Aurora's attention, like the boy with a scar on his face, and another that was immediately placed into Gryffindor without the hat even settling on his head.
