Chapter 65

Mutters and hushed whispers spread through a large hall. Over a hundred voices mixed in an unholy hyme, dialects and languages from all over the world echoed, resounding of the walls before one person stood up; The person clears their throat, their voice shouting over the rest and casting the room in silence.

"Order! We need Order!" The person walks up to a podium that sat in front of the entire ensemble, and projects;

"Alright. We've gathered to discuss the ongoing crisis happening in Japan at the moment." The person winces as the room bursts into loud arguments; it was a heated topic that came up in the monthly meetings they held.

An arrogant and pompous voice comes from the back;

"Why can we not leave them to settle their own affairs?" The voice gwaffs;

"We've talked about this time and time again. Our heroes cannot leave our countries! It would cause too much damage, none can be spared to retake Japan." Another voice interjects, calmly;

"Yes, but Japan manufactures most, if not all, of the goods and products we use. Stocks are plummeting as we speak! With the closed borders, nothing is going in and nothing is coming out." The room falls into a tense silence.

A third voice speaks out;

"And what if the villains gain more traction? Enough support to spread their influence across the world, This could become a Global threat!" A fourth adds into the fire.

"Or, they couldn't. We don't know anything about the threat. Our priority right now should be the containment of assets and consolidating our funds." A cold voice comes from the front.

"We've gone back and forward for six months. The citizens of Japan are in unprecedented danger and you want us to build power and more money?" The first speak slams their fist onto the podium;

"We call ourselves the National Heroes League and yet, we bicker and run in circles as one of the countries under our wing falls into chaos." The room tenses;

"This cannot stand. When we were first asked to aid Japan, we ignored it and look what that got us; the retirement of All Might and a massive army with a conviction to overturn society." The person sighs wearily.

"We need Unity. Our combined force of heroes could easily overpower this threat, and yet we twiddle our thumbs and watch as this power amasses." A new voice disputes;

"Can it though? The final report we got from the Japanese Hero Commission said that the leader of this force has a quirk that can steal others and use them at will." The new voice adds quietly;
