"Hello darling" her voice was everything you remembered.

"Mom?" She looked like it took, unchanged from the face in all your photographs.

Your head was fuzzy, or was that the world around you? The world between awake and dreaming.

"Where am I?" You asked.

"I call it, the waiting place" she smiled at you.

"Waiting place?" You heard, like rain the sounds of gentle pleading words. But they were foggy, like they were falling on a thatch roof. "What is that?"

"That's that boy of yours" she looked around the space you held, it looked almost exactly like your family home, but softer. Less defined. Mocking your memories.

"Am I dead?" You asked, was this your eternity?

"Please" his voice was clearer now. Not so muffled.

"Can you hear him?" Your mother asked.

"Yes, like he's in my ear" you closed your eyes, hearing as he begged you.

"Please wake up." He would pleade "I need you"

"Then no" your mother smiled "you're not dead"

"What is going on?" You asked her.

"You nearly died carrying the girl like that. Your arm will never be quite the same" your mother touched the arm you had nearly lost. The skin was smooth, like aged scar tissue.

"My sweet" his voice was louder with every word.

"How am I alive?" You remembered the pool that formed beneath you.

"Narcissa saved you. She loves you, but not nearly as much as he does" your mother ran her fingers over your newly healed skin.

"I'm really confused mom. Why am I here?" It was odd how ghostly her touch felt, like it was more of a memory than real.

Was this real?

"You're going to be okay, someday this will all end" was all she said. What did she mean? What would all end?

"I love you" their voices were meshed together like broken pieces of the came symphony.

You felt yourself gasp, air filling your stiff lungs in a rapid and painful pace. But no sound left you.

You opened your eyes, you lay tucked softly into Draco's bed. The plush blanket wrapped around your body.

You saw him, his head leaning on your hand as he sat asleep in the chair beside your bed. His fingers looped in their rightful place between yours. It was dark, the sky through his windows was blackened and deep.

How long had you been there?

You pulled his hand, he looked so uncomfortable sitting like he was. He should be in bed with you.

He was startled awake by your sudden movement.

"Y/n" he stood.

"Draco" you smiled, your eyes heavy and begging for sleep.

"You were supposed to wait for me" he leaned in, his hand quick to stroke your hair.

"I couldn't wait. There was so many people, we were losing your shot" you were sickened then by the reminder of what you'd done.

Kidnapping.

You sat up, your head still swimming a little as you did.

"Impatient as ever" his smile granted you relief, as it always seemed to.
