Chapter four: Unsettling Questions

The marauders, Annabeth, and Sam walked back to the Gryffindor common room together. Annabeth had her eyes on the beautiful boy beside her as she tried to keep herself concentrated on the conversation they were having.

" So, Annabeth" says James, turning her attention to himself, " what do you think about werewolves?"

Sam choked on his spit and Annabeth's face got the straightest it's ever been.
" Why do you ask, Potter?" asked Annabeth, coldly

Annabeth cared deeply for werewolves, she thought they were completely understood.

" They're monsters" spoke up Remus

Annabeth stopped dead in her tracks and gave Remus the hardest glare he had ever seen

" What the bloody hell is wrong with you?! I actually thought you all were decent people, I was mistaken. You have absolutely no right to say those things, lycanthropy isn't a choice. I am disgusted with you, Remus. I thought you were a sweet, caring guy. Sam, come on" yelled Annabeth, tears welling up in her eyes.

Annabeth grabbed Sam's arm and dragged him away, leaving the Marauders in shock.

" I think I'm in love with her" whispered Sirius

Remus stood there, in complete shock. He knew he was a monster, he was convinced of it. She didn't know what she was talking about, did she know of his problem?

Annabeth was pacing, tears streaming down her rosy cheeks. Her heart was broken after what she had just heard.

" I just can't believe he would say that, Sam! He's supposed to be perfect, caring, and then he says that type of stuff" she said, breathless

Sam just sat there, listening to his best friend let her feelings out.

As she was about to continue, Gideon and Fabian strolled in, laughing loudly

" Woah, what's wrong Beth?" asked Fabian, full of worry for his baby sister

Annabeth tackled her brother in a hug and explained through sobs.

" I know what will make you feel better" said Gideon with a smirk

Fabian and Gideon shared a knowing look and picked up Annabeth.

" Time to prank the Slytherin's" the twins said in unison.

The trio quietly made their way to the dungeons and saw Severus Snape walking towards the portrait of Salazar Slytherin. This was their chance.

" Severus," said Annabeth, catching his attention, " you look really good. Did you work out over the summer?" she asked while twirling her red locks in her fingers

" No." replied Snape, suspiciously

" Oh, well, you're rather fit now" Annabeth replied with a smirk.

Snape's cheeks turned dark red as he looked the girl up and down. Next thing she knew, he grabbed her by the waist and pressed his lips against hers.

Annabeth's eyes flew open in shock and pulled away instantly.

" Uh... maybe we should do this somewhere more private" she stuttered

Snape said the common room password and swiftly entered the room, not realizing the Prewett twins followed closely behind

Annabeth regretted her decision as she was led to his dorm.

Snape started taking off her shirt and Annabeth threw up in her mouth.

" I'm sorry, I just remembered that I have to walk my fish" said Annabeth as she ran out the door

Annabeth's alarm went off right at 7:00, much to her dismay.

" Ughhhh why does this happen to me?" she groaned as she climbed out of bed.

The floor felt cold on her feet as she made her way to the shower

She used her strawberry scented shampoo and conditioner then washed her body with lavender body wash.

Today was her first day of classes and she was more than excited to get back to her favorite class, Potions.

After she finished getting ready, she headed down to the common room with her book to wait for Sam

" Annabeth, can we talk please?" asked Remus Lupin, startling Annabeth

" Oh, um, sure" she responded quietly
" I want to explain myself after yesterday, I don't truly feel that way about werewolves. I swear. We just wanted to test you" he tried explaining

" But why is that something you'd need to ask? Do you all think I'm some awful person who discriminates?" she questioned

" No! Not at all, we think you're an amazing person. It's just, you can never be too sure. "

Annabeth pursed her lips in response and sat closer to Remus.

" Have you ever read this book?" she asked

Remus shook his head and got closer, if even possible

The two read the book together in peace, waiting for their friends
