Yami POV
Inside of everyone, there's always a bit of monster. But for me...it's way more than just a bit. My story begins at the age of 4.
Flashback twelve years ago...
It was just a normal day, well...not really a normal day since it was my birthday.
"Mom! Mom! Do you think I'll get a cool quirk?" I ask
As we walk to the doctors.
"I'm sure that it'll be very cool!" She says
"I'm so excited! I can hardly wait another nanosecond!" I exclaim while pushing up my falling glasses
"I wonder if it'll be either mommies or daddies?" She says
"It could also be a mixture of them!" I say
"That's right! You're so smart!" She says while patting my head
"Maybe that means I got papa's intelligence quirk!" I say
"Now Yami, not everything revolves around quirks" she says
"But they're the coolest thing in the world!" I say
"They may be cool, but don't let your quirk define who you are. There are plenty of people who's quirks don't match their occupation" she says
We arrive at the doctors and head to the examination room. After some tests, we sit across from the doctor.
"Well ma'am, I've got some good news and some bad news" he says
"Oh dear, we'll give us the good news first" my mother says
"The good news is, your son had an extremely strong quirk" he says
My eyes then light up with excitement.
"The bad news is that we have to put him under containment" he then says
I lose the smile I have.
"What?! What you do mean put him under containment?" My mom asks
"We're terribly sorry, but your sons's quirk was deemed as too dangerous and unpredictable to be kept unsupervised" he says
"You can't just take my son away!" She says
"I'm sorry ma'am, but it's government protocol" he says
"What quirk could he have to make him so dangerous? My husband's quirk is an intelligence one and mine just allows me to change the color of my hair" she asks
"Well, there are cases where a child can get a quirk that's completely unrelated to their parent's quirks. Sadly this is one of those cases" he says
"Tell me his quirk!" She demands
"Well, for now we'll just call it Berserk. Essentially, whenever you're son gets super angry, he'll transform into a rage form that will go on a blind rampage" he explains
I just sit there listen to the doctor with a blank face.
"My son never really gets angry let alone rages! There's got to be some other way!" She says
"I'm sorry ma'am, it's just the way our current system works" he says
"He is my son! You can't just take him!" She says
"The situation is out of my hands. Government officials will be here any minute now" he says
"No! I'm not letting you take my baby! Come in Yami!" She says while standing up while picking me up and heading out of the room
