25 - Belonged

With a small laugh escaping his plump lips, Calum couldn't control the sound from coming out when he saw Luke playfully roll his eyes at Ashton once the gangster told them a terrible dad joke.

"That was not funny." Luke muttered, sending Calum a playful glare in response to his laugh.

"Oh it definitely was, doll. You just don't want to admit that it was." Ashton laughed as he pulled Luke into his arms, placing a large kiss onto his lips.

It was obvious to see that things were getting better for the three. Calum was healed up from his slip last week, since Luke and Ashton helped him through it. He was feeling more healthy, especially mentally.

Now that he was acceptive of his feelings for the others, Calum was able to take a deep breathe in and out. Luke and Ashton just being there and obviously caring for him was making Calum feel unimaginable things.

He's never had anyone that truly cared about him where it didn't benefit them in some way. But Luke and Ashton did, and they did in such large ways.

But there was always something going on in their lives that weren't quite perfect. There was still no word from Michael.

It hurt all of them, but it especially hurt Calum. He wanted him to be here with them, being happy and being accepted for who he was.

Calum doesn't want Michael with Marissa, left to face his painful past on a daily basis. Instead he wants him here with them three, being surrounded by those who actually do love and care about him.

"Should I...Should I try to call Michael?" Calum asked hesitantly once the laughs calmed down from the other two that were sat in Ashton's chair in his office. Luke calmly resigned in Ashton's lap while Calum lounged in the couch to the side, staring at the two for an answer.

"You can try." Luke smiled softly, being almost completely sure that Michael wouldn't answer. Ashton gave Calum a nod, making the brunette pull out his phone and shakily press call next to Michael's name.

The call rung too long. It was like the buzz just continued to ring, ring, and ring with no answer from the tattoo artist. But Calum felt his heart basically leap out of his chest when he heard the buzz stop with a timid voice saying a hello.

"Michael?" Calum asked surprised and utterly happy when he heard the voice. Both Luke's and Ashton's reactions read the same. Luke quickly got out of Ashton's lap and sat down next to Calum as the brunette put his phone on speaker, so they could all listen to the call.

"Um...yeah." Michael nervously said, fiddling with his fingers as he held the phone to his cheek with his shoulder.

Sitting in his room like he always did, Michael didn't really know what compelled him to answer the call this time. He always ignored them, being too scared to even talk to them over a phone.
