They got him.

The ground was cold when Akimoto's face came in contact with it. She could care less about the throbbing pain in her chest and head, she just wanted to process what the hell happened back there.

They got him. The villains have him.

Her mind spiraled and swirled like a whirlpool of thoughts. Dead silence was all she could hear and give when it finally hit her that Bakugou had pushed her away just in time for him to get caught in the villains' hold. It scared her that he jumped in for her.

Akimoto shook her head slowly, her eyes fixed on the ground where she stood earlier– where the portal was before they could take him. "N-no..."

All of the class 1-A felt lost. They couldn't stop him, no one could. Out of all the students, Kirishima and Akimoto felt the most anguish for their friend.

"H-he... he jumped..." Kirishima breathes out as he took a step forward. He lost his best friend. Who knows what's going on on the other side?

The silence was the loudest to Akimoto. Eyes wide with terror and guilt, she stood up. "We need to..." She stands up with her remaining strength. "We need to get him back!"

Everyone's exhausted eyes turn to her. Yaoyorozu, as the vice-representative and the second-closest to Akimoto, tried to calm her down. "Eli, calm down–"

Akimoto resisted and pushed her friend away, eager to save him again. "I need to get him back." She turns to Kirishima. "Ki-Kirishima! We need to get him!"

Kirishima trails his open eyes down to her. "Eli..." He whispered.

"Please! I need to get him back! We can save him!" She pleaded, heart breaking. "Come on! I know you want to save him!"

Midoriya tried to calm her down as well. "Akimoto, you're hurt. You need to calm–"

She ignores him. "Kirishima! Are you in or not?!"

The redhead gulps as he calmly puts his hands on the girl's shivering shoulders. "Eli... you need to–"

"Just answer me!" She yells.

"You can't save him!" He snaps. "Eli, you need to... just calm down, okay?!"

She flinched but dismissed it right away. "I can't! I can't calm down! We need to save him," She looks around and saw everyone was more in shock at how desperate and wild she was. "You're all just gonna stay there and look sad?! If any one of us was there in his place instead of him, he wouldn't hesitate to save you guys! Why can't you do the same thing to him?!"

"Eli–"

"It should've been me." She croaks while ducking down her head.
