Ch. 23 "Fury"

                                                       Hayden POV 

I gasped awake, reliving the constant nightmare of a life I had, constantly on my mind, the sweat falling down my face, 

The constant reminder of what my parents are, the constant reminder of what my life really is, I try to regain my breath, 

"Deep breaths," I mumbled 

After yesterday's little out burst I do realize they do care in their own annoying kind of way, 

I slowly get out of bed, I see that it's 3AM 

"Great, two hours sleep, that's good progress," I mumbled 

"Miss Chase you seem to be in distress my indicators find your heart rate is above normal levels should I summon Mr Barton?" FRIDAY said 

"No I'm fine thanks," I said 

I walked in the bathroom deciding to take a shower, I have my forehead pressed against the wall of the shower, 

I close my eyes and a flash back of me being trapped in the chest freezer me clawing at the lid banging my fists on it yelling screaming to let me out flash upon my mind, 

My eyes shot open, 

My mind is beyond repair, I know that, that is why I'm the way I am, that is why I smoke some weed to take the edge off sometimes, that is why I let anger control my actions, my mind is broken just like me, 

Finally I turn off the shower, getting dressed, 

"Hey FRIDAY?" I asked 

"Yes, Miss Chase?' The AI said 

"What floor is director Fury on?" I asked 

"Floor 34," The AI said 

"Thank you," I said walking to the elevator 

As I approach his office I see he is still there looking down at a file, 

Good to know this guy is a workaholic, I thought 

I knocked then entered, 

"Miss Chase can I help you with something?" He said 

His face showed nothing but I could tell by his voice he certainly was surprised that I was here at this time, 

I sat in the chair across from his desk, I crossed my arms, 

"I know you have them held here, and I want to talk to them," I said glaring at him 

"No, absolutely not," He said sternly 

"Let me rephrase that I am going to talk to them," I said 

"Hayden, why on earth would you wanna even consider talking to the two people who made you endure so much pain in your life?" He said 

"You are going to just reopen a wound that you don't want opened," Fury said 

"Call it closure, I need to know, and who knows maybe I can get something out of them you haven't been able to get out of them in what... weeks?" I said 

He sat there pondering for a few moments, 

"Alright, one condition," He said 

"Name it," I said 

"You have to join the Avengers," He said 

"Done, but just out of curiosity why do you want me to join so badly?" I said 

"You've got something I don't see in most people that's all I'm going to say," He said 

I nodded 

He stood up opening the door, 

"This way," he said holding the door open for me, 

I am going to get some answers from my so called parents even if it breaks me more that I already am, I thought walking out the door following Fury, 

I smirked and i know just how I'm going to do it, I thought smirking as I concocted a plan so I can finally get answers to the question I've been asking myself since I was a child, but was too scared  to ask,
