Caveira let a tear fall from her face onto the letter she held tightly in her hands.  She rarely ever felt upset, much less, cried, but this was different.  This hit home for her.  She couldn't help but let more tears run as she scanned the last paragraph of the letter.  She really didn't want to, as the first two paragraphs completely flipped her life upside down.  In a very bad way.  Sniffling, she whipped the last of her tears, folding up the letter.  She took a shaky breath and stared at the wall in her room, processing what she had just read.  Sighing, she let her head drop into her hands, and cried.  She was so busy with the waterworks that she failed to hear her door open and shut, quickly at that.  She did, however, feel the bed shift next to her.  Not a second later, she felt someone embrace her tightly, guiding her head into their neck, and patting her back.

"Babe, what's the matter?"  Eir (Y/N) spoke softly, rubbing small circles up and down Caveira's back.  Caveira only shuttered in response, crying into Y/N's neck.  Y/N just held her, making sure she was comfortable while she cried.  Later, Y/N would admit that he hated seeing Caveira cry.  Granted, it was the first time he had seen her cry, but since then, he would make it his mission to make sure she was always happy.  At least, as happy as she could get.  After a little while, Caveira stopped crying, but was still shaking.  Y/N slowly tried to untangle them so he could look her in the eye, but Caveira immediately pulled him back in.

"Just hold me.  Please"  she spoke.  Y/N couldn't help but cringe at how fragile she sounded.  It broke him internally to see her like this, and wondered to himself what on earth could get her to break down as such.  After a minute, Caveira pulled away slightly, enough to gain eye contact with Y/N.  "I'm sorry"  she mumbled, breath still shaky.

"Sorry for what?"  Y/N asked, draping his arm around her shoulders, and taking place next to her.

"For having you see me like this"  she said, a hint of a smile itching its way onto her face.  Y/N smiled a little before responding to Caveria's apology.

"It's alright, Cavy, trust me-"  Y/N was interrupted by Caveira as she spoke up over him.

"No.  No it...it's really not"  she spoke softly, letting out a huge sigh as she lay back on her bed, staring blankly up at the ceiling.  Y/N lowered himself down to be next to his girlfriend, in which she immediately snuggled into him, seeking his comfort.

"Babe?"  Y/N spoke after a minute.  Caveira nustled in response.

"Hm?"  she asked, still sounding pretty shaky.

"You want to talk about it?"  Y/N asked.  Caveira let out another breath, this time, very shaky and very jagged.  Slowly, she sat up in bed, bent over the side, and retrieved the letter that had fallen out of her hands as she cried.  Sniffling, she handed the letter to Y/N with one simple instruction:

"Read" she mumbled.  Y/N took the letter, looking back to Caveira.

"Out loud?"  he asked.  Caveira shook her head.

"Just to yourself.  Please"  she spoke, quietly.  Y/N followed instructions, scanning the letter over.  Admittingly, it was hard to read.  Whoever the scribe for this letter was found pleasure in shorthand cursive writing, or so Y/N has suspected, as thats what was covering the page.  As he read on, a million thoughts passed through his mind.  Mainly, connecting the dots as to why Caveira has broken down.  When he had read the letter twice through, he breathed slowly, getting up from Caveira's bed.  Dropping the letter on her nightstand, he embraced her in a bear hug, but not too tightly.  Fortunately, she didn't mind, as she gladly accepted the gesture, hugging back, and whimpering slightly, clearly still in pain from her recent loss.

"Babe, I...I'm so sorry"  Y/N spoke quietly as he held her, reverting back to his original hugging method of rubbing small circles on her back.  Caveira took a short breath, sinking down to the floor.  'She's really taking this hard.  She must've had a serious connection with her father' Y/N though as he sat down on the floor with his girlfriend.  After a minute, Y/N stopped hugging Caveira and stood up, helping her up as he did.

"What are you doing?"  Caveira asked as she wiped some of her tears.  Y/N grabbed her hand in his and lead her out of her room.  Surprisingly, Caveira obliged, allowing herself to be lead to wherever it was her boyfriend was taking her.

"Making a quick stop at the mess hall.  I'm gonna grab you some pineapple"  Y/N informed.  Even though she was feeling very upset and broken, Caveira couldn't help but smile.  Pineapple was her favorite fruit, and all around snack, and it definitely helped her relax and calm down.  The fact that Y/N knew this was a good course of action to take just confirmed for Caveira that she had made the right decision in dating him.  She was drawn from her though as a plastic cup of small pineapple chunks was placed in her hand.  Snapping back to reality, she realized that they were already in the mess hall.  'I guess I'm a prolonged thinker' Caveira though as she and Y/N sat down at one of the tables.  Caveira picked a chunk of pineapple out of the cup, and slowly nibbled at it, the words of the letter still ringing in her ears.  When she went for her second piece of the tropical fruit, Y/N spoke up.  "I know what you're going through"  he spoke.  Caveira looked at him.

"You do?"  she asked in a quiet tone.  Y/N nodded.

"I lost my mother a month after I went into the army."  he spoke.  "I got a letter, quite similar to the one you got, actually.  I was broken for a little bit."  Caveira finished her piece of pineapple before she spoke.

"How did...how did you cope?"  she asked.  Y/N sighed.

"It was hard, as I was alone in it.  But I just did things to distract myself and my mind.  Training course, shooting range, hell, even Call of Duty."  Y/N chuckled at the knit eyebrow response from Caveira.  "We had a decked-out lounge"  Nodding Caveira let her head fall into the table, wrapping her arms around it.

"This is too much"  she spoke as Y/N wrapped his arm around her, bringing her in closer to him.  "How am I supposed to do my job if I can't focus on it?"  she mumbled into the tabletop.  Y/N thought for a minute before replying.

"You could ask for a break.  Like a day or two to get your emotions together?"  Y/N suggested.  Caveira shrugged into the table, letting out a sigh.

"Even if, it will still cling to me, Y/N.  I...I had a very deep bond with my father.  Now he's...gone"  she spoke, softly.  Y/N started back up with the circles on Caveira's back, attempting to help her cope with her loss.

"I'll talk to six about it.  You shouldn't have to do training and everything this soon after getting the news."  Y/N stated.  Slowly, Caveira raised herself off the table, and looked at Y/N with bloodshot eyes.  Slowly, she nodded, picking another piece of pineapple from her cup, nibbling it, sighing.  Y/N kept his arm wrapped around Caveira as he pulled his phone from his pocket, typing a quick message to Six, informing her that he will be dropping by after breakfast.
