Tom was already back out on the road the next morning

Sonic- so what's on your bucket list

Tom- me?

Sonic- yeah, everyone has a bucket list

Tom- sure but I mean you're the one leaving earth and I'm not planning on dying anytime soon

Sonic- oh don't be so sure, your best friend is a magnet for danger

Tom- anointing yourself as a bestie, little presumptuous but I mean, no I like you of course but you know we're not best friends

Sonic- you tucked me in last night and then I noticed that Y/N was sleeping right next to me

Y/N- wait, I was

Sonic- fine fine, best animal friend

Tom- that would be my dog Ozzie

Sonic- ok let's drop this increasingly humiliating topic of conversation. Bucket list, let's hear it...and I wanna hear one from you too Y/N

Y/N- well...I don't have much in mind but I do have a dream of becoming a famous musician one day. Also I don't exactly have a lot of friends at school so I'm really hoping I can make a real friend...if I'm lucky, possibly get a boyfriend too

Sonic- sounds interesting

Tom- okay there is one thing, in Green Hills I've always felt more like a babysitter than a real cop so I want a chance to prove myself under real pressure. I'm gonna move to San Francisco with Y/N, become a street cop and I don't know, see if I have what it takes

Sonic had the "are you serious" look on his face

Tom- why is your face doing that

Sonic- you're leaving Green Hills, but why. Why would you leave Green Hills...and what about Y/N, she has a life here

Tom- I know this is hard for you to understand but Green Hills is a very small town. Also I know this is new for Y/N but she'll grow used to it

Sonic- it's not small, there are hundreds of people

Tom- that's a small town

Sonic- it's a perfect town and the people need you

Tom- please, I clean out their gutters and jumpstart their cars in the winter. They could call anybody to do that

Sonic- sure they can call anybody but they don't, they call you

Unknown to them, Robotnik was not far behind

Y/N- um guys

Sonic- you're not making any sense, you come from a great town, great people and by my count, zero people trying to kill you

Y/N- guys?

Sonic- besides what could possibly be more important than protecting the people you care about

Y/N- guys!

They didn't have much time to react because they got a harpoon shot through their windshield, pulling them towards Robotnik's car

Sonic- you know what, I was wrong about you. You're not the donut lord at all, you're more like the jerk lord

Tom- have you noticed the harpoon stuck in our gas?!

The car bumped into the side of the road and Sonic was flung out onto the windshield

Y/N- Sonic!

Sonic- I was forced from my home, your home is perfect and you're leaving it, why would you do that

Sonic's body started sparking again with blue electricity
