"I'm sorry, I didn't think anyone was up here," said Ginny Weasley, taking a few steps back, her face going slightly pink. She was dressed in light grey sweatpants and a white Quidditch T-Shirt far too large for her.

"Oh, it's fine, you can stay." The words left my mouth without even thinking about what I was saying, and she gave me a confused look.

"Really?" she asked, as shocked as I was that I'm inviting her to stay.

I think for half a second before responding, "Yeah, I'm going to leave soon anyways." I told her and gave a weak smile. She walked towards the railing about a foot and half away from me before talking again

"You know Malfoy, you aren't THAT bad. Definitely not as bad as your brother." I turn to look at her, and her eyes are still focused on the sky full of stars.

"Not sure if that was supposed to be a compliment, but thanks I guess." I say shrugging, still staring at her.

"You're welcome," she says back. She turned to face me and lowered her eyes to my neck. "I like your necklace," she added before returning her gaze to the sky.

"Uh, thanks?" I stammer, a bit taken aback at the compliment. This was the first time calmness lingered in the air instead of tension after an interaction between a Weasley and a Malfoy.

"You know, I used to say 'to the stars and back' instead of 'to the moon' because the stars are much farther" she told me, looking at my face now and softly smiling.

"You're weird, Weasley. I think you have been spending too much time with Loony Lovegood" I reply jokingly, thinking about the blonde headed lunatic Weasley likes to hang around with.

"Maybe," Ginny hesitated before continuing, "That day in the library, I never meant to make you so upset... I never intended for you to get THAT angry." She says apologetically.

"It's alright, I have a bit of a short temper sometimes" I tell her, not even realizing what was coming out of my mouth. Ginny raises her eyebrows

"Sometimes?" she asks sarcastically I can't help the smile small that creeps across my face

"Shut it, ginger." I reply teasingly. I looked up at her blue eyes, still as bright as they were during the daytime and my face relaxed. I felt calm standing there with her. A few minutes went by and we just stood there, examining the stars.

"I should probably get to bed before anyone notices I'm gone" I announce, breaking our comfortable silence. She nods and I head towards the large door leading down back down to the castle. "Night Weasel-Bee," this was a name Draco and I had come up with for the red-haired family my first year. I smiled and left before she could say anything back.

...

Apparently the next day at breakfast I was in a good mood because Draco had asked me what I was smiling about.

"I don't know, maybe because I'm happy?" I say to Draco, clearly annoyed.

"Why?" he asked again, causing me to get even more annoyed.

"Because I just am" I snap, my mood dropping slightly. "Why do you suddenly actually care about how I'm feeling? Or, are you only concerned when I'm happy?" I add through gritted teeth.

"I don't. I was just asking" Draco said, rolling his eyes before going back to cutting the pancakes that were on his plate. I was in a good mood, I didn't know the exact reason why, but I had a slight idea.

"Morning Smiley" Blaise says, nudging my shoulder, obviously noticing the huge smile plastered on my face.

"I hate you so much," I replied sternly before turning to Pansy. She was looking down at her plate and pushing her food from side to side. She was acting the same way she was on Friday, and it was weird to see her usual aggressive self become so timid. She seemed detached from reality, like she was lost in her own thoughts. I tapped her shoulder softly after Draco and Blaise branched off into their own conversation, grabbing her attention.
