Ch. 27 "I'm not scared"

Hayden POV

I woke up this morning in some what of a daze, since every time I close my eyes, I relive so sort of tormented past,

The beatings, the pain, the confinement, I thought

I walked through the halls about to leave the tower when Someone grabbed my wrist, I spun around about to punch whoever dared to touch me,

"Nice swing but sloppy even for you," Nat said

I just rolled my eyes,

I went to leave but Nat had a grip on my wrist,

"Let go," I said trying to keep calm,

"I don't think so you've got explaining to do, let's go," She said

I didn't move

"Now Hayden," She said

I sighed following her,

We arrive in what looks like a conference room,

"Stay here," She said leaving not waiting for and answer

I sighed again sitting in one of the chairs, I put my feet on the table as I crossed my ankles, Then the door opened revealing Clint and Nat,

"Hey feet off the table," Clint said

I did as I was told,

Clint Sat next to me,

"Hayden Talk to me what is going on?" He said

I crossed my arms and slouched,

"I don't know what you mean?" I said

"The pot," Nat said

I just rolled my eyes,

"Of course you two found out," I mumbled

"It wasn't hard the laughing and the red eyes kind of gave it away," Clint said

"Yeah, well I'm a bit more less conspicuous than I was yesterday," I mumbled

"You mean you do this often?" Nat asked

I stood up,

"Look when I feel a little overwhelmed by my emotions I use it to take the edge off okay," I said

"Was talking to your father what overwhelmed you?" Clint asked sympathetically

"How did.." I mumbled

"Fury told you," I said

"More like showed us," Nat said

"Right," I mumbled

"Hayden talk to us," Clint said

"Look, I have tried all different kinds of coping strategies this is the only one that works alright," I said about to walk out,

Nat stopped me by blocking my exit,

"Maybe you need a different one," She said crossing her arms

"Like what?" I said

"Training," She said

I rolled my eyes,

"Is that your answer for everything?" I asked

"You channel it all into one thing you would be surprised at what you can accomplish," Nat said

"Besides you won't be training with me," She said

"Who am I training with then?" I asked confused

"That would be me," Bucky said walking in,

"Are you three crazy?" I asked

Clint chuckled

"If anyone can show you how to channel your anger it would be him," Clint said

I scowled,

"Don't make that face," Nat said

"What afraid?" Bucky said

"No, one I'm not doing this, 'B' your a lot bigger than me, and two,I would prefer not to" I said

"Too bad besides we seen you take out someone twice his size," Clint said

"Yeah, well that guy wasn't a super soldier," I said crossing my arms,

I scrunched my face in frustration,

Clint put his hand on my shoulder,

"Look this will be good for you,I know your scared just give it a chance," He said

I hesitated,

"Scared? who said I was scared?" I said glaring

"You didn't have to your body language says it all," Nat said

"Please," He said

I sighed and nodded

"Come on Hayden," Bucky said and with that I followed him clearly feeling defeated,

Clint POV

I watched as Hayden Followed Bucky to the training room, her arms crossed, after the past few weeks I noticed she crosses her arms when she feels uncomfortable,

"You know kid is stubborn," Nat said

"You know I was thinking once she gets this under control I was thinking of taking her home to meet Laura," I said

Nat looked at me shocked

"I already discussed it with her, and she thinks it would be good for Hayden since she's never really had a life," I said

Nat smirked

"You care about the kid huh," She said

I nodded,

"Yeah, Nat when I look at her, I just... I don't know I see a girl who desperately tried to keep the truth from the world, but also took out that frustration on the criminals of the world, someone who desperately wanted to call out for help but just couldn't," I said

"She's safe now Clint," Nat said patting my shoulder,

"I know that but I just want her to have the life she deserves, not the one her parents dealt her," I said

We walked out of the room,

And I'm somehow going to give her that, I thought
