5 years later

"Is she coming?" Lena asked only to be met by screaming silence

"I'm- I'm so sorry Lena" she's not coming," Alex said then continued, "she really thought she could do it"

"So what was the problem? Supergirl emergency?" the Luthor asked clearly perplexed by the situation

"No. She just couldn't make it. It was too much, but I'm sure she wants to try again. She loves you but you also know what happened" Alex tried to ease the Luthor's worries

You locked yourself in the bathroom
Lying on the floor when I break through
I pull you in to feel your heartbeat
Can you hear me screaming? Please don't leave me

"I know Alex, I was there remember?" Lena rhetorically asked as anger rose

"Yeah, I know. You also know what you did" the Danvers tried to bring up a subject no one was willing to talk about

"You don't have to remind me Alex" Lena only said

"So you know how it feels not to be ready. To not be sure if you can take it. And I think seeing you would bring it all back"

"I know Alex. But I miss her, I miss her soo much" Lena's voice was starting to break

"I know you do. And I know she misses you too but missing you hurts, even more, so seeing you would break her all over again" Alex said

"What I'm I supposed to do Alex. I'm I just supposed to wait and do nothing about it? I want to see her and talk to her" the Luthor expressed

"I know you want to, but give her time she'll get there. She wants to get there too. She wants to hear all about what you're doing at L-Corp and how your was or just even what new technology you're working on. She wants to be here, but I'm afraid she can't rush it. It just doesn't work like that" the older Danvers professed

"She tells me about her you know?" Lena asked but they both knew it was more of a statement than a question

"I bet" Alex only said

"She tells me everything they do together. What games they play, what they eat or watch, and what stories she tells her. She tells me everything and she reminds me of everything i miss about her" Lena said then continued

Long endless highway, you're silent beside me
Driving a nightmare I can't escape from
Helplessly praying, the light isn't fading
Hiding the shock and the chill in my bones

"Sometimes when she tells me about their day together I wish I could have been there with them. She makes me her all the time. But I can't tell her not to talk about her because she has a right to talk about Kara because she's her-" she couldn't say it. She couldn't possibly bring herself to say it out loud

"I know Lena. Give it time, you'll both get there, I know it" Alex said

"Do you know what they're doing today? she was supposed to come over with her but now that-" Lena couldn't even process everything anymore, so Alex stepped in

"She took her to the city on foot. She wanted to show her around" Alex told her

"Yeah, she's been wanting to go to the city," Lena said as she smiled then went on, "she's so adventurous"

"That she is" Alex as she gave the Luthor a smile Lena knew all too well, that smile that says oh trust me I've seen it

They took you away on a table
I pace back and forth as you lay still
They pull you in to feel your heartbeat
Can you hear me screaming? Please don't leave me

"Are you going to be okay?" Alex asked

"No. But I'll find something to distract myself with and since I'm not going into L-Corp today, I might as well go work on some of my old tech in the lab" Lena said trying to sound convincing as much as she could but Alex knew her well enough to know that she was sad

"Okay, let me know if you need anything. I'll be at the DEO" Alex said not wanting to push Lena to work on her feelings for she knew she wouldn't want anyone to obtrude on her privacy.

"Thank you, Alex, for coming over and for you know- not pushing" she professed calmly

"I'll talk to you later Lena," she said as she stood and walked to the door. Before she left, she turned and looked over at Lena before saying, "bye Lena" and then left.

After Alex left Lena went to her lab that was situated beneath the surface of her apartment. She had been working on some ideas before everything went down and recently she had started working on them again.

Hours later Lena came up from downstairs after a long day, she went to the kitchen to get something to drink when she heard someone knock.

She wasn't expecting anyone this late. It was 6 in the evening, so she was left wondering who could be looking for her this late.

So the Luthor dismissed her drink and headed for the door. She was met by two figures one with the bluest eyes she's ever seen and one with eyes that resembled her own.

They just stood there rooted to the ground, looking into each other's eyes as if some spell was holding them there.

Until someone spoke up first, "can I go upstairs? I missed streaky" the young girl asked as she ran up the stairs without waiting for a response, well there she goes running again Lena thought

I don't wanna let go
I know I'm not that strong
I just wanna hear you
Saying, "Baby, let's go home"
Let's go home
Yeah, I just wanna take you home

"Kara" Lena only said

"Lena" Kara also said

"You're here" the Luthor went on. 

"Yeah, she wanted to see you and streaky. I know it's only been two days but I know she missed you" the Kryptonian said

"I missed her too," Lena said before she continued, "want to come in? you don't have to, I know it's a lot but I'd really like to talk to you. I miss you soo much and you don't have to say yes if you don't want to" Lena was cut off by Kara

"Lena you're rambling, that's my thing" she joked then went inside the house leaving the Luthor still holding the door wide open.
