(Good evening fellow nindroids! I've returned with a new chapter! Enjoy... or, you know, start sobbing for the ninja team ._.)

The love of his life, the girl of his dreams, now stood in front of him, battle ready. Her raven hair was tied back in a messy ponytail, her waves of hair bobbing and swaying peacefully and strands of black hair framed her almond shaped face. Ocean blue eyes stared out at him under a messy fringe, hostility emanating from her gem-like orbs. She was currently wearing a kimono, the one Jay had surprised her with on Valentine's Day. It was a beautiful mix of blue and gold with a lining of red, spirals of phoenixes and dragons danced across the cloth and the kimono hugged her figure. Even as she looked like she was about to murder him, he couldn't help but be entranced by her beauty. Tears cascaded down her flushed face, trailing down her cheekbones and dripping slowly from her chin.

Drip

A tear fell

Drip

Another tear

Drip

And another

Jay could see the droplets of water that clung to her lashes, her eyes were red and puffy from crying and she looked so vulnerable, like a leaf about to be blown away by the wind. The lightning ninja had to resist the urge to pull the girl into his arms, protecting her from the sadness. It was only when she spoke that he realised something. It wasn't the others she needed protecting from.

It was him.

The realisation hit him like a truck. A sob racked his body, he took great heaving breaths as he looked at his Yang. His knees shook and the lightning sputtered out, disappearing back into the air and his illuminated freckles dimming. Jay fell to the ground, burying his face into the knees of his singed jeans and his figure shook as he bawled. Cole stepped forward, approaching Jay firmly and scooping the skinny, freckled boy into his arms. Jay's face was pressed into his chest as the lightning ninja put his arms around Cole's neck, clutching tightly onto the fabric of his shirt. Jay's knuckles whitened as he scrunched the cloth in between his fingers, grasping at Cole as if he was an anchor that kept him from falling into the abyss.

The Earth ninja's heart went out to him as he cradled the boy in his arms, stroking his mop of chocolate curls tenderly and whispered comforting words into his ear. He then paused before turning his attention to the ice ninja. Cole sighed and continued looking at Jay as he spoke, "Hey Zane, I'm sorry about what just happened with Jay and-" Cole looked up only to find an open door and a group of worried and bewildered ninja. When Cole gazed at the ninja with their colour coordinated clothing, he saw no plain white attire. Zane had made a run for it.

...

The nindroid's breathing became laboured as he sped full pelt down the steep mountain, preparing to get as far away from the monastery as possible. His vision blurred with tears. He tried desperately to recall what had happened in Kryptarium, but it was quite blurry. In fact, most of his memories from the Never Realm were also fuzzy. He only seemed to be able to remember when he felt extremely strong emotions, like anger and hatred. Zane leaned against a nearby oak tree to catch his breath before swiftly continuing on, lost in thought, 'Jay was so angry, so I must have done something horrible. But what was it and how did I escape from Kryptarium?' Though he thought about any and all possible answers, his silent investigations bore no fruit. It only served to worry him further, but before he could become overwhelmed with anxiety, logic took over. 'Overthinking will not help, the only way I can find answers is to get as far away from the monastery as possible and launch my own investigation.' Zane nodded to himself before continuing onward.

He walked through many forests before passing through Birchwood, he was tempted to seek refuge in his old home, but he instantly put down that idea. His father's house in the tree would probably be the first place the ninja would look, so he dared not enter.
