Chapter twenty-one: Secrets Revealed

Remus didn't know what he expected, but it certainly wasn't this.

Annabeth's room was a vibrant yellow with posters filling every wall. There were pages of books hanging from her wall wherever there wasn't a poster. Her bed had a black comforter with a metal bed frame. There were framed photos of her and Sam on her beside table along side a small lamp.

" This is it" sighed Annabeth

The girl was beyond nervous for Remus's reaction to her home. She knew it wasn't much but it was the best they could do.

" I love it" said Remus with a smile

Remus plopped down onto Annabeth's bed and instantly felt himself get tired. Her bed was firm yet soft at the same time.

" So, where will I be sleeping?" asked Remus

" Well, as of right now. There are no extra rooms so you could either stay in here with me or with the twins" said Annabeth shyly

Remus's eyes went wide as he imagined himself sharing a room with Annabeth.

" I'd rather not be pranked daily, if it doesn't bother you, I'd prefer to stay in here" laughed Remus

Annabeth sat on the bed next to Remus and the pair engaged in a conversation about endless things.

" Your scar is looking better" whispered Remus

Annabeth reached a hand up to her face and felt the scar she had grown to hate.

" You're just saying that because you have to" 

" Why would I have to?"

" You're too nice to tell me how awful I look" said Annabeth

Remus sat himself up and placed a finger under her chin, bringing her eyes to meet his.

" That's where you're wrong, you've always been beautiful to me" whispered the boy.

Annabeth's eyes were shooting between his eyes and his lips. She was unsure of what to do or how to feel.

Remus gained a burst of adrenaline and began to move in, closer to her face.

Annabeth's eyes fluttered closed as she felt Remus's breathe on her face.

" Bethy!" shouted Charlie from outside the door

The pair jumped apart and Remus cleared his throat awkwardly

" Yes, Charlie?" groaned Annabeth

" Mommy said food" giggled Charlie

" Okay, we'll be down in a sec" chuckled Annabeth

Remus and Annabeth's faces were hot as they both thought about what had just happened.

They had almost kissed.

" Well, um, we should probably head down" said Remus nervously

Annabeth stood up from the bed and led the way down to the kitchen

The pair was met with the delicious smell of Molly Weasley's cooking.

The dining table was full of chicken, vegetables of all sorts, rolls, cornbread, and desserts.

" Mrs. Weasley, this looks amazing" gaped Remus

" Oh dear, please call me Molly" replied the woman with a cheeky grin

Annabeth grabbed Remus's hand and led him to the seat next to her.

" Molly's food is the best in the whole wizarding world" gushed Annabeth
