"Even church is better than this party," Lark admitted, rolling his eyes in boredom as he stood next to Aeden who was stuffing his mouth with food, "Come on man, how can you eat like that and still be so lean." Aeden blanked him as Lark surveyed the 'party' in front of him. The ambience was overall lame, people were basically conversing as if they were attending a work-related meeting, the music was scarcely hearable and people were getting hammered flawlessly, and Lark still hadn't seen his sister.

He wasn't worried, no, but the point was that he was used to seeing her most of the time at home, and despite her obnoxious presence, he still loved her; so the fact that she hadn't shown up yet gave an eerie twist in his gut.

"Larkey!" Speak of the devil; Maya came bounding in, smiling broadly, all set to recount the close experience with death she had because of her brother's crush, "You know I almost died because of your crush," Aeden, who had just stuffed a piece of cake into his mouth, immediately spat it out as Lark's eyes widened in both apprehension and interest.

"Go on..." Lark flagged for her to carry on, finally diverted from the hideous party as Maya proceeded to narrate what had happened.

"Ah! So that tabby I saw earlier it was you! I thought I'd gone nuts." Aeden uttered after Maya had concluded her tirade whilst Lark remained quiet in deep thought. Both of them turned to Lark, who had fallen unusually quiet, "All right mate?"

"You are an idiot," Lark glared at her sister gravely, Maya crossing her arms with a cocked brow.

"I thought you'd be interested if I told you about Bloom,"

"Not when you almost risked your life! Hear me out, you're not even proficient with your powers, imagine if your acquawoman friend hadn't been there-"

"I would have found a way anyway," Maya tried to rassle him but Lark only shook his head in response, eventually leaving her alone and giving Aeden a look to follow him, which it took Aeden a while to figure out but eventually did, after sending an apologetic look towards the girl who was still astonished by her brother's conduct.

She sighed softly and then walked over to the booth and grabbed herself a lemonade while simultaneously noticing that people were directing their attention towards a certain spot; Maya wrinkled her brows in disarray before heading in the direction where people were directing their attention, leading to a scene that would have been quite comical if not for the fact that the subject was about to be strangled by plant wings.

Maya would never have assumed that Terra was the one who would nearly murder Riven, if anything the opposite, but Terra didn't seem herself at the moment as she watched the boy against the pillar reddening from being deprived of air. He was trying to speak, but in vain, and meanwhile Terra didn't seem fazed at all, "Huh? Sorry?"

"What was that Riv? I'm sure it's really funny, but i can't quite hear it." Terra proceeded to mock him, the level of sadism skyrocketing, while Riven, who had detected the blonde drawing nearer, implored with his eyes to do something, despite the fact that their meeting had got off to a rocky start.

"Terra, whatever he did, please stop or you might regret what you're about to do," Maya tried, but Terra had no intention of hearing and the situation was getting progressively worse; Maya would have regretted what she was about to do, but this was a life in danger and although Riven was a mongrel, druggie, nasty boy and a zillion other awful adjectives, he didn't merit being stripped from his own existence.

Maya faced Terra and aimed her spotlight at her eyes, Maya's own eyeballs turned into an infinitesimally revolving vortex, a whirlpool into which Terra slowly began to sink as she became palsy from the trance and the briars that were about to slay Riven trickled down, freeing the boy who began to gasp for the air he had been denied up until now; Maya's eyes reverted back to their original selves and Terra slipped back into reality.

"You could've killed me you freak," Riven jabbed his finger in her face as soon as he obtained enough breath.

"Missed you too."

Maya meanwhile was shaking her head as an excruciating headache flared up in her skull and Terra instantly gave her a an anxious look upon realising the girl was spinning on her feet, "Maya? Are you okay?"

"Ugh fine," Maya relieved her and then switched her attention to the boy whose life she had apparently saved yet who had shown her zero amount of thanks, "a thank you would have been nice."

Riven, regardless of the amount of pent up rancour he felt at the plump girl who had been strangling him, nonetheless allowed a smirk to surface on his face as he shot back at the blonde, "Well, there are a lot of ways I could repay you, my personal favourite consisting of a bed, you and me-"

"Never mind."
