This is the dog

"So, tell me why there is a random dog in the tub" I spoke slowly, still standing by the door.

"We found her walking home from the park" Eri explained, fidgeting with his fingers.

"She looked dirty and hungry, so we brought her home" Kota finished, keeping his hold on the dog.

"And you allowed them?" I turned to Ellie and Iroh, who jolted in surprise.

"Well you see, they kept asking and the dog looked so cute and sad" Ellie rushed her words.

"The key to a healthy family is the pure soul of a dog" Iroh agreed.

"Come on guys, you can't gang up on me like that. I've never even owned a dog before, I don't know a thing about taking care of one" I whined.

"We'll take care of her!" Eri declared.

"Like you two owned have owned a dog before" I shot back, making the two children look down. I sighed and ran my hand through my hair.

"Just, get the dog outside and I'll take care of this mess" I sighed, over thinking every possibility. The kids went out with Iroh and Ellie, the dog happily tailing behind them.

I shrugged off my jacket and got to work, making the house exactly as it was originally. It was getting dark already, but there was just enough light for the kids to see.

I cleaned the floors, making sure every bubble was gone. I cleaned the tub which was full of dog hair. I wiped the sweat off my forehead and double checked my work.

It met my expectations so I went to the front door, opening it silently. Eri and Kota were laughing as the now clean dog chased after them. They had a stick in their hands and the dog was trying her best to grab it from them. Kota finally threw the stick and the dog ran after it, bringing it back so it could be thrown again.

I leaned against the door and silently watched the interaction. Ellie and Iroh were laughing as well, petting the dog whenever she went by them. I sighed in exasperation and shook my head with a fond smile.

I fished out my phone and called the landlord.

"Hey, what's the policy on dogs?"
