Kachak

"Gah!"

I dove down, just as the object before me exploded in all directions. The force knocked some of the papers on my desk to the ground, which would have been far more dangerous if it exploded in my eyes

Time Alter, contrary to it's name, is not a Magecraft that focus on time

If anything, it is a utilization of Bounde Field by the Emiya's, made to look like they are focused on time.

While at first glance that sound contradictory, it is the essence to which the family approach our Magecraft

Time is a paradox. Time is an illusion not meant to be perceived. Time is an anomaly within our conventional notion of a third-dimensional space

That is exactly the definition of modern Mystery. That which is outside of mortal understanding, blurring the line between illusion and reality-- a construct made from the abstract machination of the human mind

When talking from a technical perspective pertaining to its deployment and inner mechanism, sure, you have a Magecraft that separates the flow of time in two individual path. It's not an analysis I'd disagree with

What one fails to take into account is the degree of work needed to understand how they works to manipulate them as an extension. Originating from the Bounded FIeld's study is a requirement for spatial precision so as not to cause irreversible damage to subjects inside it

Regarding that Time Alter is like creating and then putting a Bounded FIeld inside you and sustain them to your will

It is doable

But done wrong, it can be more than dangerous

The flaming pile of organic matter before me is enough proof of that. I sighed

Yet another failed experiment

How many times does it make now? Two - three if this one is included. For some undiscernible cause the two Fields I've set up always seems to cancel out on each other at the last moment

It's as though I have to manually stabilize them while providing mana and controlling the two separate flows of time at the same time. If only I have [Memory Partition] the task may have been an easy one, but sadly that is not the case

Time Alter is a complex spell. unlike adult Kiritsugu's version this one is non-lethal to the user and considerably more powerful. On the downside, it is stationary in nature.

No way I would risk internally damaging myself so that I could for some comfort of convenience

"Kiritsugu, dinner!"

The voice came from downstair pulled me out of my thought

"Coming!"

I replied, organizing the instruments back to their position and left the room

The metallic click resounded as I locked the door behind me with a key - a natural deterrent for anybody who wants to tamper with my risky endeavor in Magecraft

As much as I want it to, the fear is not unreasonable

One just need to take a look at fictional taboos of messing with time. Time is an undispensable force of the world, and unless you have an innate understanding or capability to manipulate them, the majority of the people would not considered doing so a good idea to even remotely interfere with that dangerous a concept

It is necessary to take up the basic before advancing the process any further. As a result Norikata had given me this assignment to ensure I do not fuck up on any of my future Magecraft research
