One week later
Today is the day I have to move in my grandmother for the summer and I can honestly say that I can't wait to get away from the house before I loose my mind. Since the arguement with my dad & keysha i've been ignoring them. The only communication i've had with them is Keysha telling me that I need to watch her kids. My father has been trying to "apologize" to me. But his way of apologizing is giving me money and buying me clothes.
"Honesty, baby girl are you packed" my dad asked as he knocked on my door.
" Yes"
"Babygirl I've been thinking. You don't have to go if you don't want to, I would never mak e you leave your home"
Before I could even respond Keisha ran into the room,
"oh hell no, baby we did not agree to this. This chang e will be good for her Come on Honesty we ne. ed to get your bags in the car so we can get on the road.
"No don't listen to her. She just wants the best for you. Do you wantto stay?"
The fact that he said she wanted what's best for me is the craziest shit ever to me.
" no, I will go "
6hours later
We finally pull up to my grandmother house and I couldn't wait to get out of car.
We all get out of the car and walk up to the door
"On my goodness is that my baby at the door?"
"Yes,GG it's me"
"Oh my goodness look at how big you've gotten. It's been so long since I sent you. Come in come in"
We walk in and go to the living room to sit down
2 hours later
My father has ran to the floor for my GG while we sat and talked
"Mama D" Keysha began but the look GG would shut any one up
"It's Ms.Davis to you"
"Oh it's just Derrick said that you use to let Nicole call you momma and I thought since we were married I could call you something less formal"
GG never liked Keysha and she has no problem with showing it
"Oh no sweetheart that because unlike you I actually liked her. God rest her soul "'
"Wait what?"
Keysha sat with a shocked face as if she didn't already know. I mean it's obvious. She has pictures of my parents together r handing on the wall. She and her friends went to the wedding with shirts that read DO NOT DO IT in big black letters. As Keysha began looking around trying to avoid contact with agh her eyes landed on the pictures with my parents and no pictures of her. You could see the anger rising as her face turned red.
"Are you fucking kidding me?! She was just some raggedy hoe that Derrick cheated on me with. I am
Your daughter in law now! I don't-"
I don't know who set think she is to talk about my mother like that but, before I couldeven say something GG Smacked Keisha.
"I don't know who you think you are but, let me tell you something right now. You will never talk' about
Her like that. The difference between you and Nicki is she earned respect. You just walk in here thinking you should automatically get it. And you know what she wasn't a bitter bitch when she found out about you, yes she was upset but she respected you enough to let you have my dumbass son. She was an amazing person and her and my son were great together. But you miss Thang is a bitter Whiney gold digging crybaby. So in my presence you need to SIT THERE AND BE CUTE LIKE YOU ALWAYS DO."
Shock washed over me and Keysha's face as GG finished her little rant. I knew Gg didn't like her,but I didn't know why she didn't like her. As an awkward silence washed over the room my dad walked in to the house with Groceries.
As my dad walked in Keysha stormed out of the house crying.
"Derrick I don't know why you bring that nasty thing to my house. Matter fact I don't know why you still with her annoying ass"
"That is my wife now ma, she is in my life for forever now • it's time to accept her. I have to go."
With that being said he walked right out of the door. No goodbye. No I love you. Nothing. To say that my feelings wasn't hurt would be a lie.
