"Conscious!" Harry shouted, looking for the girl. He didn't see her near the shop and he grew worried she ran off, merlin Dumbledore would murder him if he lost her.

"I'm right here boy." He heard a faint voice call. Conscious was walking toward him, holding a bird in her hand, a dove it seemed to be.

"I thought you ran off." Harry sighed, scratching the back of his neck. "You found a bird?"

"It flew into the window. I thought about killing it." Conscious's muttered as she passed him the injured dove, she was right the thing had it's wings facing the wrong way and it's face was bloodied.

Harry looked at her in horror though. "What, why would you kill it!?"

"The damn thing is well near death, but I figured this could be an excellent learning opportunity, so Harry here take this." Conscious started as she gave him her wand which he took in his other hand, his gaze still petrified at the bird in his other. "Now heal him, what spell stops bleeding?"

"U-uh I don't know I'm not g-good at memorizing spells." Harry stuttered, he felt panicked and nervous, she was not only resting him but he was holding an almost dead bird in his hand. He felt too much pressure, if he couldn't heal it, it would die and he'd look like an idiot for not knowing a simple healing spell.

"Come on boy, think. Stop letting your fears rule you, healing spells it should be fairly simple." Conscious sighed.

Harry closed his eyes, breathing quickly reviewing his lessons. He remembered there were lots of different healing spells, some for bones, some for bleeding and splints, bandages, unconsciousness. He didn't know which one to use or to start with. He opened his eyes examine the bird, the bones were obviously broken, think Harry he thought. He remembered when Lockhart used a spell to try and fix his broken bones but it went horribly wrong, oh merlin what if he made the same mistake.

"Harry!" He heard another voice call for him, it was Hermione and Ron who came towards the duo. "What are you holdin-, Oh my it's a bird! Harry what did you do?"

"He didn't do anything, quiet. Harry, what is the spell the more time you waste thinking the less chances this bird has." Conscious barked.

"Are you trying to heal it? Here let-"

"No, let him." Conscious raised her hand to stop Hermione from aiding the struggling boy. Hermione frowned but listened stepping back, she understood Conscious was testing the boy, she was going to be their future teacher and this was a good chance to start, Ron on the other hand stood with his fist clenched around his wand.

"I-I remember one spell." Harry stuttered again.

"Go on." Conscious encouraged.

Harry raised Conscious's wand, her wands core felt nice throughout his body, almost like this wand could be meant for him. He pointed it at the bird before casting, 'Brackium Emendo'

A small flash shot out of the wand, hitting the bird as it rest its broken bones in place, though the bleeding on its face didn't stop yet. Harry raised his brows, he had done it. He was afraid he would've totally fucked that up.

"I did it Conscious! Did you see I did it!" Harry exclaimed with a wide grin, he looked at the girl who simply nodded. Hermione was surprised at Harry's reaction, she'd never seen him so proud before.

"The bleeding now boy, do you know the spell to stop blood?"

He shock his head.

"Vulnera sanentur." Hermione answered for Harry. "It will spot the gash on its face, here watch."
