We were the children of a singing god, who made us move.

Who came to us in dreams, who sang to us and gave us love.

Who showed us how to dance in wondrous dreams among the stars.

We followed where she led and danced with her to our delight.

It was in endless joy we danced with her and sang with her.

She led us on and on through starry realms where we could play.

These dreams were always grand, became more real than earthly life.

Until our dancing dreams became our life, and life a dream.

We spoke to others of this dream of ours, this joyous dream.

This way the word was spread and others joined our starry dance.

'Til many more were drawn to join with us night after night.

As farther on she led, we followed her to distant realms.

For some the way back home was growing faint and hard to find.

This made it hard to break their contact with these distant dreams.

Some did not want to wake from dancing dreams, from soaring dreams,

But dreaming on and on gave up their bodies and their lives.

At first we did not know, we who awoke to normal life.

But as their numbers grew first anger came, and then came fear.

What was this singing god, this dancing god who came in dreams?

What kind of god was this who would steal souls while bringing dreams?

What kind of dreamers they, to whom this god appeared in dreams?

What kind of world was this, where children dreamed among the stars?

What kind of life was this that would allow dreamers to die?

And some then asked if it was truly death, if spirits lived.

If in some distant realm spirits might find a better life.

Was this a destiny achieved by those whose time had come?

Was this another step on mankind's path to come to God?

Gods angels come in dreams to those whose day has come at last.

Perhaps that day will come to everyone who learns the Way

And children everywhere will go to God, where they belong.
