Unexpected (Regulus Black)

A/N: Your James's younger sister, after you graduated you left London for America but you come back after a few years when your nephew is born with a surprise. (Voldemort is dead)

3rd POV:
As the Potter household was all decorated for young Harry Potter's first birthday, James Potter had been pacing in his living room, back in forth in front of his friends.

"Prongs, calm down will ya, she'll be here." Remus encouraged. James had finally found his sister who was in America and invited her to Harry's birthday.

"I know, it's just I haven't since her in 4 years." James added.

"Don't worry, she's still your little sister." Sirius laughed. Y/n Potter a year younger then James, sorted into Ravenclaw.

A knock on the door was heard and James immediately ran towards it opening the door to see his little sister. "Y/n!" He wrapped her in a tight hug.

"Hi Jamie." She smiled.

"How have you been?" He asked. Before he could answer he heard a door close from behind him, James looked over his shoulder to see Regulus Black, holding a baby.

"Sorry, she didn't want to get out." Regulus walked up to Y/n kissing her on the cheek.

"What's this." James narrowed his eyes at Regulus.

"I think we should go inside for this." Y/n said awkwardly.

The three plus the baby went into the house into the living room where Remus, Sirius, Lily and Harry sat.

"Y/- Regulus?" Sirius started before seeing his brother behind her.

"Sirius." Regulus nodded.

After a few awkward minutes of everyone staring at each other, they all made their way towards the couches, James, Lily and Harry on a couch, Y/n, Regulus and their baby on the other, and Remus on the chair while Sirius leaned on Remus's leg.

"So well um..." Y/n started to explain. "After we graduated, the two of us thought it would be best if we left London and move somewhere else."

"Wait we?" James looked at the two.

"We, Regulus and I had been together for a year and a half before we graduated." Y/n clarified. "But after Regulus was able to destroy Voldemort horcrux's, it was safe we moved and we left for America. After we settled down we got married and we had Konstantinova or Nova for short."

"You got married!" James yelled.

"Could be a little more quiet, I don't want you to scare Nova." Regulus said as Nova sat on her father's lap playing with a stuffed animal.

"He was a death eater!" James continued.

"The death eater who killed Voldemort." Y/n reminded. "If I remember correctly, Regulus put his life on the line to save the wizarding world, so I think you should be a bit more supportive." Y/n added. "I knew coming was a bad idea, come on Regulus, let's go to your parents house."

"Wait don't go!" Lily yelled. "James is just trying to process everything at the moment, he's happy that you're here."

"Doesn't seem like it." Regulus muttered.

"Come back, we can have a more civilized conversation and Nova can play with her cousin?" Lily offered.

"Alright." Y/n answered looking at her family.

"Nova, sweetie do you want to go play with your cousin?" Regulus asked. Nova nodded her quickly, Regulus left the room to go find Harry.

"He's good with her." Sirius said. "Better than our father was."

"He vowed he wouldn't turn out like his father, Regulus has been doing a wonderful job with Nova." Y/n sat back down on the couch.

"Do mother and father know?" James looked at his sister.

"They know, I send them a letter explaining our situation by they haven't met her yet." Y/n answered.

"What about my parents?" Sirius asked.

"We just left their place, they were happy they had a grandchild." Y/n smiled at the reaction of Walburga and Orion.

"Was not expecting that." Sirius murmured.

"Nova and Harry are having a ball." Regulus came back into the rooms sitting next to his wife.

"Thats good." She smiled.

"Why didn't you invite us to your wedding?" Remus asked.

"We had a private ceremony, just us." Regulus answered. "I know you all have a lot of negative comments at the moment, but just know the two of us are happy together and we happy of the family and life we created for ourselves."

"Well, I'm happy for you too." Lily gushed. "Do you ever thing about moving back to London?"

"Maybe, not now. We like America and we want Nova to experience it there, it may be her decision if we want to move back or not." Y/n answered.

A sound at the door had James back up and answering it. "Mother, father!" Euphemia and Fleamont Potter stood at the door with a present in their hand for Harry.

"Hello James." Mia smiled.

"Come in, come in." James ushered them in and leading them to the living room.

"Mother?" Y/n looked up. "I didn't expect to see you."

"I could say the same." She looked at her daughter. "My, have you grown."

"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Potter." Regulus greeted.

"Hello Regulus." Monty answered. "Is Nova here?"

"They're in the play room together." Lily answered. "Would you like me bring you?"

"Mother and father even understand!" James said still frustrated.

"James will you calm down, you're not my father, I don't need your permission to do things, I'm my own person, I don't follow you around like a little puppy anymore." Y/n stood up. "I've been nothing but positive and you have raining on every single thing we say, like's not important. I wanted Nova to get to know her other family but by the way you're acting, I don't that's best anymore."

"C'mon Y/n, let's go cool down." Lily took her out to the porch. Once they stepped outside, Y/n let tears come down her face.

"I understand why James is a bit upset, I left him not saying a single word and showing up 4 years later with Regulus and Nova is quite a shock. But Regulus changed, he's a family man now, he would do anything for Nova. It's been hard for us, especially Regulus and Nova was our light." Y/n looked at her sister-in-law.

"I guess he wasn't ready for his little sister to grow up so fast." Lily wrapped an arm around Y/n. "I remembered how much he would talk about you in the common room, stories from when you were little, stuck to the hip."

"I guess that might be my fault, once I met Regulus, I distanced myself from him and when Regulus had to destroy the horcrux's, it took a toll on him. We wouldn't be able to stay stuck together, forever, his future was with you, and mine was with Regulus." Y/n sighed.

"I love him. I never say that nearly enough, I never had." Y/n continued.

"I think he knows, you don't always have to say it, you're his sister, he will love you forever." Lily smiled.

"I'm happy you're in his life, you two are perfect for each other." Y/n smiled.

"The same with Regulus, he is way happier than he ever was and that was from you." Lily replied.

"Sisters?" Y/n looked at Lily.

"Sisters." Lily confirmed.
