Horace Slughorn glanced nervously at the blonde next to him. They currently sat in front of Albus Dumbledore's desk, reviewing the terms of their teaching for the semester. Horace couldn't believe the girl was still alive, not only that, she hadn't even aged! She still looked like a seventeen year old girl.
"Now Conscious, I've decided you assist Horace Monday, Wednesday and Friday, then you'll be with Severus here our Defence Against The Dark Arts professor Tuesday and Thursday." Dumbledore explained. "You will only be allowed to use magic in their classrooms, after you will leave your wand with whomever you are with at the end of the day."
"Whatever you say Albus." Conscious yawned, it was far to early to be talking with the old man. "I wish to add another request though, the boy. Why haven't you taught him Occlumency? Or any useful spells in that matter. If he's meant to be your golden boy why is he so defenceless?"
"The classes here are enough." Albus insisted. "And he has the Order to protect him."
"You cannot be as thick headed as I thought, his connection with Tom. It's strong, I would've thought you would want it to be more protected." Conscious retorted. "Unless you enjoy seeing the boy in pain?"
Severus bit his tongue back, this is the first time he'd come to meet the Dark Lords lover, her attitude was beyond disobedient. But her magic even he could sense it was way past he own years, potentially even equal to Albus himself. She had raised a valid point, as much as Severus despised the spawn of James Potter, he also wondered why Albus didn't train him more.
"What are your concerns with Harry?" Albus asked.
"I wish to tutor Harry every Saturday, teach him to protect his mind and teach him to protect himself better." Conscious proposed.
"And why do you wish to aid that brat?" Severus spoke up.
Why is this girl going against the man she loves?
"I believe it will be useful towards both our goals, you want to protect Harry and I merely wish for the same." Conscious explained.
"If Harry agrees to this then fine." Albus sighed. "Anything else from any of you?"
"Who will be the head of Slytherin?" Horace asked.
He was the head of Slytherin back in his teachings day and he rather enjoyed his snakes, but with Severus now head he wasn't sure if he wanted to fight the man for it. He was rather intimidating.
"I'm sure Severus wouldn't mind having you join him!" Albus smiled looking at Severus.
Severus simply clicked his tongue with a grunt.
"Splendid! We must prepare to greet the students, Ms. Jones feel free to unpack but be in the dinning hall by six as we will introduce you to the students." Albus clapped.
"Whatever old man." Conscious muttered standing before turning to the two teachers she will be working with. "Severus, Horace. I look forward to working with both of you."
With that she left the headmasters office, leaving the men to discuss things further.
"Are you sure it's best to have her so close to Harry Albus?" Horace asked. "How can you be sure she isn't working with him."
"I've made she sure hasn't, and I will make sure they cannot get to you either Horace. But I need your help-"
"I've already helped enough! I've told you everything about Tom nothing more can be said!" Horace said cutting Dumbledore off quickly.
Dumbledore paused then nodded. "Of course Horace, I must speak with Severus here. I'll see you at the welcome back dinner."
Horace nodded, leaving the room not wishing to be questioned even more.
