Lia's Pov

*Sigh*

There are so many people here, all together as couples. Ranging from young teen lovers to some of the older couples.

While me?

Single as a pringle, sticking out like a sore thumb in this building.

What am I even doing here? I'm just setting myself up for hurt with the sight of everyone being lovey-dovey with each other, while I'm just in the corner sipping my drink.

I shouldn't even be here, why did I go here?

Oh right, because of my friends suddenly getting a date leaving me to be truly alone.

So here I am, in a café on a dreadful day for all singles known as February 14th, having to experience all the lucky ones spending the day with happiness. 

As I was contemplating leaving the place, a bell rung signalling that a new person entered, and upon inspection, they seem alone just like me, not that it matters, however, I do have to admit, from the side alone they looked quite nice.

I turned to the window, and as I was feeling myself slip to a daydream, a sudden tap quickly disturbed any chance of that, and to my surprise it was the guy from earlier, sporting a smile as he asked while pointing at the chair opposite, "Do you mind if I sit here?"

Not wanting to seem rude, I quickly nodded - as they were wearing earphones so a verbal answer wouldn't answer them- and so their smile grew as they placed themselves on their chair.

I kept a discrete eye on them, wanting to get a clear look of what they were up to, which seemed to be scrolling the internet through their phone. They took off their left earphone which I assumed was so they can hear whenever their order was ready, and as they took it off I couldn't help but hear familiar music.

"Oh, you listen to (F/A) too?" I subconsciously said to them, making them raise their head from their phone as they looked a bit shocked to discover another fan of the artist they enjoyed listening to. 

They nervously grinned, "A-ah yeah, I really enjoy their music and.."  and that's how something sparked between us.

We got so absorbed into the discussion about the music, that we've yet to properly introduce to each other, "An order for (Y/N)!" a barista called, as he went up to get his order leaving me alone for a moment.

From the conversation we've had so far, we've learnt a fair amount about each other, primarily about the music however they seemed like an interesting and genuine person, I feel quite happy to get an opportunity to meet such a person with similar interests.

He sat down, "so (Y/N) huh? Cute name.." I whispered the last bit while the timid boy scratched his nape, "yeah.. but now that I think about it, I haven't got your name," he smiled curiously while I returned the same smile, "You can call me Lia." 

...

"Say.." I fidgeted with my thumbs under the table, while briefly glancing at him to see his puzzled face, "What do you say we spend the day together, like a date? It is Valentines Day after all and I've taken an interest in you, and I'd like to get to talk with you more..."

His face quickly became full of glee, as he nodded rapidly, "I'd love to, if I'll be honest I wanted to talk more as well but felt too embarrassed to ask, but of course!"

And then the day went from my loathing loneliness to an exciting experience with someone I've just met, however, I don't care, there was a great click between us that I could feel.

Once we finished our drinks we immediately left the café, and not wanting to waste any more time we went to the arcade.

I wasn't usually one for the arcade. However, making memories and getting to know (Y/N) is something I wouldn't pass upon.

I was so wrong to not enjoy arcades earlier, maybe it was the magic of hanging out with (Y/N), but I don't mind either way.

Whenever we were playing we'd make talk about ourselves, what our hobbies were, the subjects we enjoyed and some stories about our friends. 

"Really? He did that?" I asked, sniffling a small laugh while he was telling one of his past stories with his friends.

"Yep, he's sure an odd dude but he's gentle at heart," he smiled while reminiscing about the time, "Anyways I need to quickly head to the restroom."

And with that, he left in a rush. Gosh, it's boring without him, and his cute pout and his...

"Oh Lia, hey!" A familiar voice burst my train of thought, and turning around I see my friend Chaeryoung and someone else besides her.

"Oh hey Chaeryoung, didn't expect to see you around here."

"I should be saying the same thing, usually you're not the one for arcades but yet here you are."

"A-ah y-yeah. Anyways, who's with you?" 

"Oh right! Lia this is-" 

"I'm back," before Chaeryoung could introduce to me her friend, (Y/N) already came back and holding what seemed like a plush, "This is for you," he smiled at me and handed me the animal plush. 

Chaeryoung couldn't help but squeal, "Oh I get it, don't worry we won't disturb you anymore!" 

And there she went, dragging the guy she's yet to introduce by the arm and headed off wherever they went. "I'm guessing they're your friends?" He asked innocently.

"Y-yeah.." I stuttered and felt a warmness in my cheeks. I looked down at the plush, which made me raise a wide smile before I hugged it tightly, which made him chuckle.

"So let's get going?" He asked, which I agreed to, and held his hand with my left, making us share a look and a smile.

We went to the mall from my personal request, to which he agreed to without hesitation. I almost went overboard with the shopping but luckily I was able to control myself, otherwise, he would have to suffer because of my habits.

Then we went to the movies, he had to quickly excuse himself due to a call he had but he allowed me to pick out the movie, and after finding an interesting one, he came back so we ordered the tickets and snacks together. 

Throughout the movie, we would steal glances towards each other before we quickly diverted our attention back to the green. I slowly manoeuvred my hand over to his and held it, and I leaned my head onto his shoulder. Even though we met today, it took only a matter of time to get comfortable in his presence as if I knew him my entire life. 

Once we finished the movie, we wandered through the park together, to the playground where we lightly swung on the swings all the while we continued to talk about ourselves.

"You know, I've had plenty of fun with you, I wish this day could've lasted forever." He mumbled loud enough for me to hear.

"Yeah, so do I, but I'm thankful I got to meet you today," I responded as we both looked out into the stars, and then I got up and looked at him, which he did the same, "you made my Valentines so much better, I was dreading the morning as I was expecting to be lonely, however, you changed that, so thank you." 

He stood up and pulled me into a hug which caught me by surprise, "Likewise Lia, I can't thank you enough for today," he let go and smiled at me, "However I must go for now, I hope to see you again soon."

"Wait! Don't go! You can't just-" and before I knew it, he got into a vehicle which sped off, leaving me for the night.

"Lia c'mon, you have to get out of there," Yuna, my roommate said through the door.

"No, leave me alone!"

"Lia we have school, we have to go," Ryujin, one of our friends persisted.

"No!"

"Lia.. open the door please," Yeji, another one of our friends requested, to which I obliged to and let her in.

She joined me sitting in bed, as she rubbed my back as I side hugged her, "Sorry, and thank you."

"Hey, don't apologize, we're just looking out for you. But you know you can't be cooped up in your room all day long you know?"

"I know, but this is the first time I have felt this way towards someone, it was just so special that I can't help but feel like this. Like I just got abandoned after a mutual day of shared feelings.."

"I understand how you feel Lia however you'll need to accept what has happened and that there is no changing it," Before she could continue, there were bashing noises outside of the doors, "Well looks like I need to check on them before they cause a disaster, but get ready and see how the day goes and if it doesn't go well we won't force you to go and we'll try to help you out, alright?" I nodded and she continued, "Good, Chaeryoung said there is a surprise for you at school, so look your best."

I watched her leave my room, leaving me confused by what she meant. I collected myself and proceeded to get myself ready. And once I was done I opened the door and went out.

Chaeryoung spotted me and hugged me, "You'll like the surprise, don't worry," and gave me a happy look, while the others joined in to the hug, making me feel relieved to have them by my side.

"Thank you guys.." I mumbled.

"Don't sweat it! Now let's get going otherwise we're going to be late!" Yuna added while we chuckled amongst ourselves and left.

"Good morning class, so today..." our Teacher started to talk, which I didn't pay attention to and instead turned to Chaeryoung on my left.

"About the surprise.."

She smirked, "Oh don't worry, he is coming."

Wait, he?

"...And another thing class, we have a new transfer student, please be polite to them."

The sound of footsteps started approaching the classroom while students started whispering to each other, curious about how they'd be like.

They opened the door and went to the front, "Hello, my name is (Y/N) (L/N), please take care of me." 

What is he doing here?!

He scanned the room which I assumed was to familiarize himself with the students he'll be studying within his upcoming future at the school. Once he spotted me however he grew a smirk similar to how Chaeryoung did. Wait a minute, did they plan this?

"(Y/N), please sit near Lia at the back." 

He nodded at the Teacher's request and made his way towards me, with his smile growing with each step he takes before he takes his place in the empty chair beside me, the only empty chair remaining in the classroom.

"Hello Lia, I hope we'll have a wonderful school year together," he said to me, to which I was still dumbfounded to find out that he was here before me, "L-likewise (Y/N)."

With that, everyone rediverted their attention to the front, which he took advantage of to whisper to me, "I'm sorry for leaving so suddenly, but I hope you can forgive me and let me explain later." I nodded, not wanting to waste the chance to lose him especially when he must've had a reason.

I twisted my head to the left to see Chaeryoung looking back, as she winked and mouthed "Good luck." to which I returned with mouthing "Thank you." Which I was truly was thankful for Chaeryoung if she did help prepare this. He's back to me, and I will not lose him again with the chance that she's given me.

Y/N Pov

February 14th. 

A special day that happens every year, that leaves people to either desperately hope for a Valentine, or for those who have found their Valentine to spend it happily.

And today, this year it's no different than the latter for me.

Being able to celebrate this day with the one I love, on our anniversary as well which so happened to fall upon the same day as Valentines. 

The previous year at the start of the month we were just strangers. I was a frequent regular at a bowling place which operated in the same area as an arcade in a leisure building which included many fantastic facilities. However, something about bowling intrigued me so much that I'd come there whenever I needed to get away from problems or when I just wanted to have some fun alone. 

But one day I felt quite hungry, and since the area had a bar where you could request a diner for those with family visiting, or just for a simple snack or drink. I decided to pay the bar a visit, and what I saw there was a figure who was mesmerizing. 

Upon approaching the destination, I unconsciously said "You're beautiful," to which she chuckled and thanked me.

"What would you like to order?" She asked while showcasing an angelic smile which made my heart throb.

"A date with you." I immediately cringed internally for saying something so boldly, however, she seemed amused and laughed, which I was thankful for as she didn't seem uncomfortable by it but I quickly made my order as she told me to wait.

I observed her pick up what she needed, feeling my heart accelerate bit by bit. A notification from my phone made me snap out of my trance as I looked at my phone to see what it was, which didn't seem important. 

By the time I looked up, she placed my order for me to pick up, "Here's your order sir."

I paid her and made sure to thank her properly before taking my order, feeling slight disappointment that I didn't get to talk to her more. 

Soonly after though, I discovered a sticky note taped to a piece of my order and I read it.

If she didn't kill me earlier, then she just did, not that I didn't mind due to the serotonin skyrocketing. 

I went home as soon as I was done, and I made sure to give her a text to which she responded to and we managed to organize a place and time. But those dates started becoming daily as we learnt about each other and started to realize that we were truly falling for each other. 

So on Valentine's day, I decided to confess and she rapidly accepted. Our relationship kept going strong as we supported each other through the ups and the down, and only recently moving in together in her apartment.

And now to the present day. We decided that we wanted to visit the Bowling Alley first as a throwback to our first meeting, and as we arrived she noticed her friend and called out to her.

"Oh Lia, hey!" She approached her while I followed a bit behind, feeling a bit too awkward as we haven't been introduced to each other before. They started to talk to each other and feeling a bit out of place with having nothing to contribute I started to drift off into a daydream.

Which didn't last long as Chaeryoung hooked her arm with mine, as I noticed that Lia was with another guy, "Oh I get it, don't worry we won't disturb you anymore!" And she dragged me away.

"They seem cool, maybe we could have a double date with them sometime," I jokingly stated.

She hummed for a moment before nodding, "Hm, yeah. I would like that."

"Wait really? I was just joking."

"Well that's a shame because I was down for it," she pouted.

I pinched her cheeks, "I can't say no to you if you really want we can always organize it another time, but for now let's go."

She smiled and we interlocked our hands.

It's been a few days since the day, and currently we're on our way to Lia's apartment for a daily visit. After Valentines, her roommate Yuna reported to us that Lia hasn't been feeling the best and decided to not leave her room unless necessary. With the help of Yuna, and soonly after Ryujin and Yeji, another good friends of the group, we've attempted to help Lia out, only to not progress much.

On our way down the stairs of the apartment-which we all lived in the same building of, just different floors- we started discussing about Lia.

"Do you think Lia will get better anytime soon?" I questioned her.

"I don't know, but if I see his face again I'll-"

I squeeze her hand, "Hey, I understand how you feel but beating him up won't help."

"I know but.."

As she was about to speak more, we arrived at Lia's floor and noticed some boxes piled on the door opposite to Lia's room, and a familiar figure standing there.

"You! You have some explaining to do!" Chaeryoung rushed towards him.

"Hm? Oh hey, you're Lia's friends from then," he smiled towards us before mumbling towards himself, "I'm quite lucky to meet you here.."

He then opened the door and invited us in, "Come on in, I do owe you an explanation."

Me and Chaeryoung looked at each other before nodding and going inside.

The room seemed like it was recently decorated as if somebody moved in.

"So, how is she?" He asked, with a bit of hesitation and nervousness in his voice.

"Not so great, ever since you just left her she's locked herself in. Feeling proud of yourself?" Chaeryoung stated, unimpressed. 

"My deepest apologizes, I wasn't intending to hurt her." 

"Don't apologize to me, apologize to her."

"I'm afraid I can't do that just yet."

"And why's that?" I questioned him, which made him sigh and fumble with his fingers.

"Too soon, I'm not ready. But I have a plan that I'll need your help with."

He then proceeded to explain his story, of how he originally was from somewhere else in the country, and he decided to move in here but was visiting by himself to see how it was like, and on the way, he happened to meet Lia, who he ended up enjoying his time with. When he got a phone call it was from his mother who was urging him to return home to pack. Which he ignored completely to spend the day with Lia instead. However, once the day was over he was picked up and couldn't really bear to tell her his situation, and being too quick to leave, he was unable to exchange numbers and explain himself then. 

"You're stupid, you know that right?" Chaeryoung said, feeling an even deeper disappointment in his hesitation, but a slight relief that he reciprocates the feelings and is willing to talk to her about it.

"I know, I know but I desperately need your help," he pleaded.

"Alright, then speak."

"Okay so basically.."

"Do you think that his plan will work?" I asked Chaeryoung while we were cuddling in bed. 

"I sure hope so, otherwise I won't forgive him for destroying Lia's heart," she said while nuzzling deeper into my chest.

"Well hopefully things between the two will work out, otherwise we won't be able to have that double date," I joked while playing with her hair.

"Oh, you!" She playfully smacked my arm and puffed her cheeks.

"Hey don't be mad, you're way too adorable when you do that," I poked her puffed out cheeks, to which then she smiled.

"I love you," she mumbled.

"I love you too angel, now let's go to bed so you can confront Lia early morning."

She nodded and we shared a goodnight kiss before heading for the night.
