"Right. Here we are. You go first, Harry dear. (Y/n) darling, you go next," Molly spoke, grabbing a cup that was placed near the chimney. The woman waddled excitedly on the spot as the words flew out of her mouth. She seemed to be a tad bit more thrilled than the children themselves.

"Is that.. floo powder?" (Y/n) squinted uncertainly. Sure, she had travelled with it before but never alone. Her parents have always worried about her getting lost. Even so, that didn't mean she wasn't willing to have a go at it. I mean, how long is life, am I right?

"Floo powder?" Harry questioned, feeling lost. These terms were quite new to him.

Ron nodded in response, "Yeah. I reckon you've tried it out at least once, (Y/n). But how about Harry, mum?"

"Oh, well, you go first, Ron. So Harry can see how it's done," the woman spoke, deciding to set her son as an example.

Ron pursed his lips but said nothing else, walking into the chimney with a slightly nervous expression.

"Yes, in you go." Molly handed him the cup.

Harry watched carefully as his best friend grabbed a handful of the substance from it. The ginger boy sighing when Molly gestured for everyone to back away. Let's get this over with.

"Diagon Alley!" he spoke, loud and clear.

And with a poof, Ron was gone. A roaring sound boomed through the household and large green flames shot up into the air. Harry's eyes widened in horror and amazement, the glowing light flickering on his glasses. He was left flabbergasted when the fire went away as fast as it came.

(Y/n) chuckled at the male's expression, "Your turn, Harry."

Molly nodded, "See? It's quite easy dear, don't be worried. Come on."

Harry froze, his mouth hanging open a little. Sweat starting to form on his forehead. Worried was an understatement - he was TERRIFIED. But he let the Weasleys guide him into the chimney, Molly gently patting his shoulder when he frowned.

"That's right, now take your floo powder."

The green-eyed boy felt his hand grow colder as it came into contact with the ash-like material. So that's floo powder.. Harry inhaled sharply, chewing on his bottom lip.

"Don't forget to speak very, very clearly!"

He shivered. His views about the world of magic were starting to change. He was questioning his life choices. Am I really going to do this? This is the only time I wish I was back under the stupid stairs, making no noise, pretending I don't exi-

Before he could finish his sentence, he saw (Y/n)'s lips move as she spoke towards him, "You'll do fine, Harry. Just don't think about it too much."

The boy could only nod, feeling a little less jittery than before. Oh, the effect she had on him. Fabulous. He really should go before his overthinking takes over again. He cleared his throat, wanting to seem confident but instantly regretted it when his voice unexpectedly shook.

"Diagonally."

Everyone stood still, watching the green flames blow up in the chimney, along with the boy.

Molly grimaced, visibly confused, "What did he say?"

(Y/n) face-palmed, "Oh no."

Hermione wandered out onto the busy streets. Books, that she had excitedly picked out for herself and a certain person, in hand. Oh, how she couldn't wait to show them to her. She skipped along her way, smiling with a silent giggle. Somehow, she's been looking forward to seeing (Y/n) a lot more than she thought she would. She wondered what had changed. The girl continued on her journey, only halting abruptly when her eyes fell on a particular boy.
