"Very polite." Elladora's mother smiled towards Regulus.

Her smile was something that Elladora had ever experienced and she was very comfortable in saying that she never wants to see it again. It seemed too unnatural and forced as her perfectly gleaming teeth were put on display for the other family. Now that she thinks about it, Elladora had never actually seen her own smile, except for the one that she was sporting in the picture that Remus had on his nightstand of them all at Christmas. Even in that one, her face was facing away from the camera and it only caught her side profile.

"Yes." Walburga nodded approvingly over at Regulus, he turned his head to her and smiled again and Elladora thought it looked like Walburga could combust with pride at any moment the way she was puffing her chest out as though superior. "I must say that with the limited interaction I've had with Elladora, she seems lovely as well."

"Yes, she never really has been one for social interactions." Rodolphus said, smiling probably to spite his daughter as she bit the inside of her cheek and Regulus glanced at her out of the corner of his eyes. "We're thinking of changing that with what's to come."

What's to come?

"Of course." Walburga nodded, now a certain gleam of something in her eyes. It could've been fear or it could've been excitement. Nevertheless, it was hard to decipher and Elladora was often good at reading emotion.

"Now, Elladora would you take Regulus to where he will be staying tonight?" Her father requested and she looked over at him nodding curtly before turning towards the staircase.

Regulus followed shortly after her, right on her heels as they ascended the staircase. She could feel all of the adults eyes on them as the sound of their footsteps echoed around the large hall. The main sound was the heels of her shoes against the marble but Regulus had heavy steps so his thuds were loud too.

Elladora was too afraid to say anything yet. She didn't know if her parents wanted her to talk to him or would she just be disrupting the silence of the house. Once they were out of sight, she would definitely be able to speak to him, but with her parents' eyes following her every move, she wasn't sure.

As the two of them turned the corner and stepped through the archway that lead to the rooms of the first floor, Elladora immediately turned around and flung her arms around the boy behind her. It was safe to say that he was caught off guard as he stumbled back slightly, but he quickly regained himself and returned the embrace just as tightly.

Now that they were out of sight, it was much easier to act like they knew each other instead of pretending that they didn't. In truth, Elladora had no idea that Regulus would be staying over at the Hargreeves house until today and it put a lot of her worries at ease because at least for the first day of the holidays, they would be together. She preferred it when they were together, because she knew what was going on with him and could be there for him if he ever needed it.
