7) Safe

Sophia POV

The week went by and I was ready to get out of school. Gals class was always boring and I feel like I'm going to sleep. We're just reading this boring poem.

The bell ranged and I packed my things but a voice stopped me

"Sophia stay after class please" Ms Gadot said and I got nervous

"See ya" Samuel said and I smiled at me. Gal walked to the door and shut it. She leaned on her desk and stared at me. "What?" I said "You look tired" She said "I figured" I said sighing

"Do you hate me?"

That question caught me off guard

"No it's just very awkward right now. You're my teacher and about to be stepmom" I mumbled and she chuckled

"I'm still me though" She said with a sound of hurt

Maybe I should actually try and be nice to her

"Hey you know you still didn't apologize about assuming me I'm a book thief last year" I said and she smiled "Yes I did" She said "Mhm I don't think so" I said

"Whatever" she rolled her eyes

"Well I'm going to the bookstore now" I stood up and walked away. I walked to the bookstore and grabbed a book in sit in the corner. I begin to read and I started to get tired. I tried to fight with my eyes to keep open. My eyes became heavy and I eventually fell asleep

"Wake up" I slowly opened my eyes and saw one of the worker here "We're about to close" She said and I looked at the time and saw it was almost 9:00pm. How long was I asleep?

Dads going to kill me

I rushed home and it was too dark outside

I walked in the sidewalk when I walked passed by 2 men. I sigh nervously and walked faster. I look in the corner of my eye and they were following me.

"Hey sweetie where ya going" One of the man said and I continue to walk and ignored them "Hard to get huh" He grabbed my arm spinning me around and I fell on my knees. He pulled me up and I screamed but he covered my mouth with his hand

Suddenly he was getting beaten up by someone. He let go of me and fell into the ground as well the other dude

I look up and saw it was Gal

She looked at me with a raised eyebrows

"How did you-"

"Self defense I'll teach you one day" She said and the two men was waking up. Gal grabbed my wrist and we both ran together and they were both following us

I ran as fast as I could but she pulled me somewhere and I tried to look around but when I opened my eyes I saw Gal

She put a finger on her lips telling me to be quiet

We heard the men getting closer

She pulled me closer and tried to hide me.

We were so close right now...

The men gave up and walked the opposite direction. Gal slowly pulled away and grabbed my wrist and we walked to her car. She opened the door for me and I walked in. She closed the door and went to the drivers seat.

"How did you know I was here?"

"Your dad called me saying you're not home yet and it was getting dark. The only place you would go to was the bookstore so I walked around to come and find you" She said angrily

"Sorry"

"I was worried sick Soph. What could happened to you if I wasn't there!" She said sternly and she was right.

I was scared. What could've happened when Gal wasn't there for me. I felt a tear running down on my cheek and I wiped it off

"Are you hurt?" She calmed down and I shake my head

"Thanks" I said and she noticed I was trembling

She put her hand on my thigh and lightly squeezed it making me calm down.

"I'll always protect you okay? As long you're in my sight you'll be safe. I promise" She said

She drove to my house and she was behind me as I was unlocking the door.

"Where's dad?" I looked around "He was looking for you around the neighborhood" Gal said and I nodded. She closed the door and grabbed some wine. I went upstairs to change and I was getting kinda hungry. I went to the kitchen and Gal was coming over to put her wine glass in the sink

"What happened to your knee?" She said sternly and I looked down seeing my knee bruised up "Oh then men kinda pushed me and I fell in my knees" I said and she sighs angrily before walking away

I shrugged but next thing I knew I was being lifted on the table

"Gal!" She squat down and put on some bandages for me "Do you even know how to take care of yourself?" She said running her fingers on my leg

Shivers just went through my spine

She stood up and noticed my position. She was between my legs.

"What's up with you" I whispered

"You're so cold and mean but when you're with me you seem so...normal" I said

"Because you're different from the rest of them. Plus I feel comfortable around you" She whispered back. "You don't know how happy I was when I found you again my little book thief" She chuckled

"I wasn't stealing!" I pushed her and went down the table. Dad arrived home after I called him and told me I was grounded now and that I have to go home everyday after school which kinda sucks. My house is boring.

I was done taking a shower and went back downstairs and I saw Gal and my dad kissing.

Gross now I'm uncomfortable

"Gross old people kissing" I mumbled and went back upstairs. I did some reading when my dad called my name. I groan and went downstairs

"Say goodbye to Gal" Dad said

"Bye" I said and wet back upstairs but my dad blocked my way and gave me an annoyed look. I turn around and looked at Gal who was already looking at me.

"Bye Gal and goodnight" I said smiling innocently

She tried to hide her smile

"I walk you out" Dad said and Gal nodded. They walked to the door and Gal turns around to see me again. In her eyes I saw something like I haven't seen before
