MONDAY

i stuff my phone in my hoodie pocket before tiptoeing to my bedroom door. my outfit consists of a black butterfly hoodie and a muted pink skirt. honestly, the pink shade used to be much more vibrant, but overtime, it's become faded. oh well.

it's currently 6:05, and i have
to be at natsu's house at 6:40.

and despite my tiredness, and the faint bags under my eyes, i've managed to quickly shower and get ready. after clicking a pink hairpin into my hair, i open up my bedroom door as silently as i can, and then close it behind me as i sneak down the dark hallway.

he doesn't have to know.
i think before unlocking the front door and leaving. i close the door behind me and begin to silently pad down the complex's stairs.

after i make it to the aparment's entrance area, i walk a few minutes more until i reach a bus bench. shortly after, a bus pulls up and i hop on. i smile at the driver before giving him some money for my traveling. i sigh softly before making my way to the back of the large vehicle, and i plunk down in the last seat- on the right side. i don't really notice the teen sitting across from me. perhaps i was just too tired.

shortly after, the bus begins to move.

i stare out the window for a few moments before i hear someone impatiently clear their throat-

"hey."

and they sound rather close. my body jolts slightly before i look over, and my eyes instantly meet the dark ones of a curly-haired teen. he has a doctor's mask over his mouth and two moles above one of his eyebrows. he looks somewhat tired, and almost has the same intense gaze as ushijima.

"h-hi...?"
i stutter back quietly before he briefly points to the bus' floor. i look down, following the direction of his index finger until my eyes land on my pink hairclip.

i blink in surprise, my hand shooting up to feel my hair. and sure enough, the hairclip is gone. i reach down to pick it up, and the male sitting across from me leans back in his seat, his head facing straight ahead at the seat in front of him.

but his black eyes linger on my form as he glances at me from the corner of his eye. i lean back against my seat and try to examine the clip, but it's a bit difficult to see its exact details due to the dimness of the bus. the lights near the front is all that's illuminating the dark area as the sun will fully rise in almost an hour.

i look back up to him, making sure to make eye contact with him at least once. and his eyes dart away from me after my lips part open to speak.

"t-thank you!"
i bow slightly before turning away; for he doesn't seem to want to converse any longer. i don't think he ever even wanted to converse at all. but that's okay. i understand it.

moments later, when the bus stops,
i see the male swiftly get up, and i'm about to look back out the window, but then he freezes in place as his eyes dart down to me; his head lowered and not facing me.

"next time, don't drop your stuff around. the reason why the world is so messy is cuz of people like you."

and then he's off.
and i'm left sitting there, somewhat hurt, in the dimness with a dumbfounded look on my wide-eyed face.

but... i didn't even know i lost it-

oh well.
i'm just thankful he told
me that i dropped it.

ah, you know, it's kinda strange.
lately, a lot of people have suddenly been talking to me. and they're all my age, too.

it's... kind of nice.
i forgot how this felt.

standing stiffly before a door, y/n thumps her fist against it a few times in a familiar rhythm.

knock knock,
knock-knock,
knock.

knock knock.

footsteps are heard from the other side of the door, and next thing y/n knows- a familiar woman is standing in front of y/n with a black purse slung around her arm.

she lets out a relieved sigh.
"ah, hi hun! you're such a sweetie for doing this for me! here, come in."
she greets, opening the door up more before y/n awkwardly steps inside.

she smiles politely at the woman before the single mother leads y/n into the kitchen. they stand before a counter as the woman grabs her keys off of it.

"so, sweetie, i left a note with
all the details for natsu."
she says, scooting a yellow-lined piece of paper on the counter towards the girl. y/n nods, a shy smile on her face the whole time.

"if you need anything, don't hesitate to call me- my number's on the paper."
the mother explains.

"natsu's sleeping right now upstairs.
and my son's at his grandfather's right now, but he'll be back around one or so. don't mind him- he's a sweetheart. he might head off again though- he likes to play volleyball with his friends."

she tells y/n before beginning to exit the kitchen, smiling as she checks her phone.

her happy expression falters.
"yikes- i have to leave now! but thank you so much, sweetie! i'll be back around six~!"

y/n nods before the woman turns around to leave. the front door opens and shuts. and then y/n's left all alone in an unfamiliar house with an absolutely crazy child sleeping peacefully upstairs.

i hope i don't regret this...
