Mando and Kasia made their way swiftly back towards the Razor Crest, silent as they walked. Kasia strode briskly up the ramp of the Crest, the insanity of the mission they had just agreed to still fresh in her mind.

They were to hunt Fennec Shand. Fennec Shand. They might as well sign their death warrants now.

Then, her mind went blank as she noticed the opened door and vacant room where the child should have been safely hidden, all thoughts fleeing from her head as she stared forward in horror. Panic flooded her veins as her heart seemed to stop dead in her chest.

"Mando," she exclaimed, breathless as she rushed forward, all other worries swept aside by the alarm in her chest.

In an instant, Din was at her side, and now she felt his panic swell, the emotion coupling and mixing with hers as it flowed towards her.

The pair whirled back towards the ramp of the ship without a word, both breaking into a run. They knew that the kid couldn't have gotten far. And they doubted that anyone could have broken in without the woman who ran the maintenance bay noticing. If anyone had answers about this situation it would be her—she was the best shot they had at finding the kid. And if she had not seen him, if they had lost him... Kasia didn't know what she would. But burning this entire city to the ground out of spite seemed like a fine place to start.

"Hey!" Kasia barked as they sprinted out of the Crest, eyes instinctively going towards where the woman slept.

At the sudden noise, the woman yelped and jumped to her feet, "I'm awake! I'm awake!" she yelled in instinctive response, obviously not have been being awake. For a moment Kasia wondered how often situations similar to this occurred such that her immediate reaction was to insist on her consciousness.

Kasia's attention was drawn suddenly to the small bundle in her hands, and her heart sighed in relief as she recognized the kid. The child in question began to whine at the sudden noise, obviously also having been woken from his slumber as well.

"Where is he?" Mando demanded as they continued to walk towards the woman who had emerged from where she and the kid had been sleeping.

At his question, Kasia shifted to flash Din a 'seriously' look.

She is literally holding the child in her hands, stupid, her eyes seemed to say as she stared up at him.

Under his helmet, Din blushed slightly. Well, I can see that now, he snapped back silently, still flustered. To be fair, he had set himself up for that one.

"Quiet," was the mechanic's reply to Din's question. She began to fuss over the crying child, shushing him quietly before ultimately giving up. "You woke it up," she complained to Mando and Kasia, annoyance spilling from her voice. "Do you have any idea how long it took me to get it to sleep?"

Kasia held out her arms to take the kid, but Mando beat her to the punchline.

"Give him to me," he demanded, his voice icy and cold as he extended a hand towards the woman. Kasia leveled an annoyed glare at him. He dutifully ignored it.
