winter

With silver blue hair and eyes colder than ice

Dark as two coals that no fire could ever light

Winter has a paper thin blade that diamond couldn't slice

Winter who brings cold days and colder nights

A terrible beauty found in her cold smile

In the destruction in her marble cold face

A terrible beauty found in her style

And her deadly ice haze

Listen to the howling wind

It is Winter pouring out her rage

Winter in her blizzard wind

Winter who can no longer bear her cage

Feel the soft snow underneath her feet

It is winter's soft coat that you feel

A soft fur coat yet so cold without any heat

For the coat is a shield

A shield that hides Winter's demons

For around her stone heart

Despite her icy appearance

There is still a warm spark

A spark Winter would rather die than to show

To show that she is lonely when she is alone

A spark that is flickering in the snow

A spark underneath Winter's layers of ice and stone

Winter loves hiding behind a tree

As she watches the children play

Without a care in the world and so free;

Winter envies how they make snow spray

Of how they could make angels in the snow

In the snow that was a coat of a demon

Of how they were too innocent to know

That behind the tree there's a deadly woman

There is a thoughtful side of Winter

That you might never see or know about

For she is the one that makes wind chimes tinker

On a cold December when you're going out

For she is the one who makes it snow soft sometimes

So kids can come out and build snowmen at any time

With silver hair and eyes colder than ice

Dark as two coals that no fire could ever light

Winter has a side of her that is kind and nice

That no one sees and acknowledges with delight

But under her layers and layers of marble rock

Winter's warm heart has a seal that no one can unlock
