Whirrr. Click. Whirrr. Click.

The noise of the Griever gets closes by the second but there is no where to hide. After Chuck told the guys about us being er- siblings I bid my farewell before making my way back into the safety of the Maze. My safety-

Whirrr. Click. Whirrr. Click.

I look around frantically but I can't find a place to hide.

It's the middle of the day and my muscles are aching.

Climbing vines seem useless because Grievers are able to climb quicker and jump if I try to swing off.

I can hide around a corner because the buggers are able to smell my blood.

I sprint off down the corridor I was just standing in the middle of and steer my way down its tall walls. The whirring and clicking of the Griever following my every move.

Whirrr. Click. Whirrr. Cl-

The Griever lets off a monstrous shriek telling me it sees me and I try my best to sprint faster but it catches me with a long metal claw, throwing me on its back. It jumps up and down on the spot making me laugh.

"Alright, alright you got me now out me down!" I shriek and it immediately stops, letting me be able to slide off its green slimy back.

I looks at me with a wide grin and I stroke it's head, getting slime all over my hand.

"I shall call you Kevin!" I laugh at the name that hand just randomly popped into my confusing mind. "So Kevin-" I giggle. "-what do ya wanna do?"

The Griever that now goes by the er- awesome name of Kevin looks at me for a few seconds before grabbing me and throwing me on its back.

"Kevin you are a genius!" I cheer as he starts sprinting down the corridor and through the halls of the Maze.

--------------

Night falls across the maze but that doesn't stop me and Kevin from having fun. We race down the Maze without getting a hint of being tired. Every now and then I will raise my hands before 'whooping' at the top of my lungs. Kevin knows the Maze off by heart so there is not once where he slows down. Its like-

Dammit Chuck!

I freeze. What the hell was that? What was that voice. It wasn't that females voice. This one seems familiar.

Too familiar.

I swear if someone else calms me Greenie, I'm out.

Greenie..?

Thomas?

Kevin slows down noticing my distraction and looks at me.

Who's that? What's happening?

The voice which I think is Thomas sounds scared.

Adelaide.

Kevin has now stopped completely. I stroke his head in saying to keep going and he does but not as quickly as before.

Adelaide? What's going on? It's Thomas.

I smile as his name fills my mind.

I don't know...

I frown. I don't know what is going on. And he certainly doesn't either.

How can we hear each other.

Oh ok. So... What you doin'

I almost facepalm.

He is truly an idiot.

But he is my idiot.

Wait what..!

Riding Kevin.

Wow that sounds weird. God, not a good picture.

Erase...

Erase.

Erase!

Oop, there we go.

Nope it's back.

Who is Kevin?

My friend Griever. He is pretty cool.

You have friends?

Rude!

You know ya love me.

Yeah, yeah whatever makes you sleep at night.

-----------------

The next morning I am awoken by screams and monstrous shrieks.

Kevin.

I jump up from on my ivy bed and sprint towards the sound.

Turning the last corner I barge into something.

Or someone.

"Oof" I hiss as I land flat on my ass. "That's gonna leave a mark."

I look up at whoever I bumped into and see a boy with black hair and gorgeous blue eyes. Hot.

Not as hot as Thomas, Newt and Minho though.

Just saying.

Ok I will shut up now.

"Er- hi there" I try to sound casual.

He just stares at me.

Whirrr. Click. Whirr-

The boy in front of me leaps to his feet looking around frantically.

"Woah, woah, woah. Calm down he ain't gonna hurt you anymore". I coo while placing a hand on his shoulder.

He seems to relax a little at my touch but as Kevin appears in his view he jumps behind me.

"Get rid off it please!" He pleads and I roll my eyes.

"Don't worry, I have always wanted to be a human shield from my best friend" I snap back sassily.

The boy looks at me in shock.

"Yes. I do have friends, god" I walk up to Kevin and stroke his slimy head.

"Boy this-"

"Joshua". he says quietly.

"What?"

"My names Joshua..." I smile warmly at him.

"Joshua this is Kevin, Kevin this is Joshua-" I lean don close to where I think Kevin's ear is. "-don't eat him unless he tries to kill me..."

By the look on Joshua's face he heard what I said because he looks scared.

I nervously laugh. "er- anyway let's get you back to the Glade!"

He nods eagerly.

"Did anyone see you leave?"

He shakes his head. "No".

I nod and climb on Kevin's back and hold out a hand to Joshua.

Hesitantly he grabs my hand and swings his leg over Kevin so he is sitting.

"Leggo!" I yell and point forwards... at a wall.

"Ok who put that wall there?" I ask frustrated.

I can tell Joshua just rolled his eyes but I ignore it.

Kevin sprints in the opposite direction I pointed.

Thanks buddy...

Soon we arrive at the door that is closest to the Deadheads and Joshua says goodbye but not before I say-

"See ya Joshua, do get eatin' by other Grievers now!" I wave cheekily at the now freaked out boy before riding Kevin of in the sun- fine, fine the Maze.

Happy?
