EREN DESERVES THIS. HE NEEDED THIS. EVERYONE NEEDED THIS.

I'll post the video which gave me inspiration for this chapter!

Enjoy!

You looked up at the night sky from your window. You feel the cool breeze brush through your hair as you watched the countless raindrops appear from the sky. The light illuminating from your room was warm, but not warm enough to defeat the coldness. You continue to stare and you started to see a gentle smile from the boy you once knew.

"Go away." You scowled and you quickly closed your windows and pulled the curtains together. You blew your candle and went to sleep. The next day, you were lost in thought.

"(y/n)!" Armin called, you looked up after he called for the third time. You quickly apologized. "You're completely out of it today, (y/n)." Armin said worryingly.

"Don't worry, Armin!" You reassured, "I'm totally fine! Say, want to train with me?"

Armin continued to look at you with a frown, "It's been three months, (y/n)..." He whispered. You took a deep breath and nodded.

"I know."

And today too, you continue to stare at the never ending tears of the stars late at night. You pondered over so many things you lost track of time. You tried to sleep but you couldn't, so you kept staring at nothing. Then you saw that gentle smile again. You glared at it and finally closed your windows. Finally, you succumbed to sleep.

But unfortunately, you didn't get enough. So now you were walking around deadpan. During dinner, Mikasa had to keep snapping you out of day dreaming to focus.

"(y/n)! I said that we have a whole week of training up the mountains." Mikasa said, "You better start packing."

You smiled slightly, "Sorry. Yeah, I'll get on to that, Mikasa." And you left.

Mikasa and Armin gave each other a look, "I really don't think she's moved on..." Armin frowned.

"I thought I couldn't, but (y/n) got a deeper scar than me..." Mikasa sighed.

At your room, you were packing when it started to rain once more. The sky was painted a deep orange, but now it was filled with gloomy clouds. There was a bit of thunder and you found yourself drawn to the window. You gritted your teeth and glared at the sky.

"It's been three months already! Haven't you have enough of toying with me?!" You yelled. "I've grown now, and I have to keep telling people that I'm okay every single time even if I'm not!" Then you felt something burning in your eyes. "I don't cry. You know that! But really....this hurts too much!"

"It's not my fault."

"To hell with that! This is all your fault for making me feel this way, Eren!" You continued to yell. "Just...go away already! Leave me alone!" But you knew more than to push him away. You loved him. Could you ever rid yourself of him? And to finally know how to be free from this never ending nightmare that is sweet like a dream? You shook your head.

Then you felt a warm pair of arms wrapped around you. You dared not to touch it, so you kept your glance at the window. You could hear him smiling, "Forgive me, (y/n)."

Tears threatened to fall from your eyes, "I don't know how to live anymore..." You whispered. "Just...go away...please go away. I beg you...remove me from your memory. That's all I wanted." The pair of arms tightened around you, "Why is it...that you won't stop holding me?"

He finally let you go. He spoke words you've longed to hear from him, but every time he muttered a word, it was as if his voice was fading. You dared not to turn around to face him. You took a deep breath.

"Could you disappear...if only I tried to wish you away?" And you no longer felt his presence.

Up on a hill, you carried a sunflower to a resting tomb stone. You saw an old book and an orchid next to it and thought that Mikasa and Armin must've visited. You kneel in front of the tomb stone and laid the sunflower down. The sky was daring to cry once more. You feel your eyes starting to fill up as you looked at the tomb stone.

Here lies Humanity's Hope

EREN JAEGER

March 30 - January 18

And finally, after three months of holding it back, the tears started to pour. The clouds tore apart and you looked up, sobbing loudly. And there you saw a sad smiling Eren, he mouthed an apology and a confession...before you closed your eyes and wished him away.
