Barry dropped Caitlins hand in shock as she ran away. He kept replying her words over in his head.

"I don't know how to love you"

So he was right. She did love him. He realised how scared she was, and this was mostly his fault. Because of what he did, he might never get a second chance with her, and that killed him. Why had he made that stupid bet? Because of that, he didn't know but he was almost certain him and Caitlin were done. He hadn't even realised what a precious gem he was losing. Barry ran back inside and looked everywhere for Caitlin.

"Dad, where is she?"

"Caitlin? I don't know. She should be around here somewhere"

Barry ran around looking for her. When it was obvious she wasn't there, he went and looked at their special place. Sure enough, there she was, throwing rocks in the water. He crept up beside her and put his arms around her waist. Caitlin turned around and looked at him, and melted into his chest. Then the damn broke. She wept as he put his hand on her hair

"It's ok. Let it all out"

He could feel her shuddering violently as she sobbed mercilessly. Barry's heart was breaking. His latte was in so much pain, and he couldn't do anything for her. He wanted desperately to take her pain away and make it stop. But he couldn't do anything, except hold her and let her weep. Caitlin pulled back and looked at Barry. She tried to get away, but he held her. Caitlin started punching Barry in the chest

"Let me go"

"No. I can't do that"

"Why?"

"Because I love you"

"You have a funny way of showing it"

Caitlin stomped on Barry's foot, causing him to let her go. She ran away, but Barry was right behind her. He wasn't going to let her get away this easily. Not this time. Caitlin ran to her apartment and tried to shut the door, but Barry forced himself in.

"What do you want?"

"Take a guess"

"No, Barry no. I'm letting you go"

"You can't decide that for me"

"Just go"

"No. I'm not going anywhere"

"Why? Why are you wasting your time? I'm sure you have no problem getting girls, so why are you here?"

"Because I don't want anyone else"

"Your wasting your time"

"See, I might of believed that, but I know how much you love me"

"I don't know how to love you Barry"

"Yes you do. Just listen to your heart"

"What if I can't?"

"I'm not going anywhere"

Barry took a step towards Caitlin.

"Please believe me"

"See, I don't know if I can do that"

"Why?"

"Even if we got back together, would I ever be able to trust you again? I don't think I can ever trust you again"

"Try. You know how much I love you, and how much I regret making that bet"

Barry took another step forward. "I love you and I'll spend my whole life trying to make it up to you if that's what you want"

Barry took another step forward. "I'm here and waiting. Take as much time as you need"

Caitlin took a step forward and kissed Barry 

"I can't give you what you need so stop wasting your time"

"But?"

"No buts. I told you I need time. Time to heal. I don't know how to love you Barry. Now please go. Go live your life and try not to ruin another girls life"

Caitlin locked her door after Barry left. She tried to push her tears away. Without knowing, Barry had wormed his way into her heart. Caitlin ran to her drawer and found the note. She took it out and kissed it. What was Barry doing to her?
