I stood in the back of the room, eyes scanning over the four bodies before me as I watched each person's peculiar behavior. Sejin, standing tall to the left of Jungkook, his arms crossed over his chest as he stared blankly at the deputy behind his desk. His shoulders looked broad against the tight material of his shirt, the muscles of his back leaving no creases in it all the way down his backside. If I hadn't become familiar with the man, his presence alone would've made me cower. Jungkook sat in the middle in his own single chair, hands clasped innocently in his lap as he stumbled over his words, rehashing what he could remember the night at Rachel's as he cast his gaze away from the deputy before him. Seokjin rested his hand against the small of his back, a reassuring presence that told the youngest he wasn't alone, and that we had his back no matter what. The oldest brunet looked tired and concerned, the veins in his temple throbbing as he wordlessly listened to Jungkook spit out his side of the story. The deputy nodded, scribbling something down on his notepad as Jungkook listed certain things that would be of use in arresting Rachel. He had a wispy goatee that looked quite bold against his pale, ashy skin. It was my surprise when I found him to be only thirty-three years of age. He wasn't that much older than Seokjin.

And finally, I, poised in the back of the room behind three familiar faces as I made to take in every inch of the room. I could see everything from my position; the barred window to the left of the room, the dusty, plastic plant in its wicker basket in the far right corner of the room. I watched Jungkook as he ran his hands through his silky bangs with a sigh, continuing to spill his story in an unwavering voice that made him seem the bravest I'd ever seen him. I remembered my first time telling someone what Yura did to me, all my pauses and stutters making it almost impossible to get my words out. Surprisingly, Jungkook wasn't quite like that towards the end. He could explain, in detail, what had happened with only a pause here and there to catch his breath, eyeing the deputy before him as he asked questions about that night and jotted notes down in his booklet.

"Do you remember Ms. Choi's exact address?" the deputy questioned.

"No. I used a navigator to get to her place because I'd never been there before."

"Well, if you can't remember, then it will take some time-"

I stepped forward and threw my phone on his desk, my texts with Freya having been opened and ready an hour before as evidence. The deputy looked up at me over the rim of his black-framed glasses, dropping his pen against his desk and cupping my phone in both hands. he gestured to the device as if to ask, "Do you mind?" and I jerked my head in acception. He scrolled through my texts briefly before returning to Rachel's address, carefully writing it down in a blank corner of his page before offering up my phone.

"Why were you in need of her address?" he asked me, his gaze solid and intimidating as he looked me in my eye. I glared back at him without any emotion, not finding him intimidating in the slightest as I narrowed my eyes in his direction.

"I've had problems with her before. Unrelated to him." I gestured to Jungkook with my chin, glancing down to find the brunet staring up at me over his mask with wide, doe-like eyes.

The deputy paused for a moment before nodding, excusing himself for a moment to step out of his office, notepad in hand. Everyone released a collective sigh, Jungkook slouching forward in his seat to hide his face away in his hands. I watched the muscles tense through the back of his shirt and wondered just how much he was bottling in, wanting all of us to head home and lock ourselves away in the safety of our rooms. Placing a hand on his shoulder, I massaged the tension in the maknae's arm as he leaned back into my touch, peering up at me with wide, starry eyes.
