Lady Whistledown POV

Dearest gentle reader, I must send felicitations to the new Duke and Duchess of Hastings. Congratulations and stamina as they embark on the most exhilarating time in a young couple's life. I am, of course, talking of the honeymoon. Is there a more romantic notion? To retreat from society together ...finally leaving watchful eyes behind.

Adelaide POV

"Welcome to Clyvedon, Your Graces. It has been so long since we have been blessed with both of your presence," Am older Woman says as she Cole kisses her on the cheek she looks back at me slightly before returning her eyes to Simon "but I trust you will find everything to your liking." She continues and Simon gives her a smile

"I do not doubt it, Mrs. Colson. I hope you have been well." he says

"May I introduce to you the Duchess of Hastings and Lady Waters?" Cole says interrupting and he nudges me forward

"We are looking forward to making your acquaintance, Mrs. Colson." I say and give her a small smile

"Thank you, Lady Waters.  I have planned everything
to make all of you very comfortable. First, a light meal,
served on the terrace. Then a tour to show you all the improvements I have made. Then..." She says and I feel my head begin to spin

"I am sure it will be most diverting, but I am afraid it will have to wait. I have plans of my own for my new bride." Simon says and he drags her inside

"Disgusting" Cole mutters under his breath

"Absolutely revolting" I say only loud enough that he hears.  If I was being honest with myself Cole and I had started talking more after having to sleep in the same bed last night. However we didn't end up getting much sleep as Daphne and Simons moans were surely to be heard from space. At least we had bonded over our new hate for their nighttime activities.

"Follow" Cole says as he holds up a hand that I willingly take as he drags me into the mansion the first thing I notice is the bloody size

"Holy shit" I gasp and he shushes me by placing a finger to my lips

"People will believe you aren't a lady" he smirks

"Shocker" I whisper

"Come on I have suggested we have seperate rooms but furthest away from the newly wed couples night activities" he says and I let out a laugh

Lady Whistledown POV

While this author, along with the rest of the ton, will certainly miss its most-remarked-upon couple back in London, perhaps we might find solace in the promise of the duke and duchess returning to us bearing a surprise. The most shocking news yet is that both Lady Waters and the Duke of Windsor also left with the newly weds. Could there possibly be something going on with the perfect faced blondes?

Adelaide POV

After Finding my room which happened to be directly across from Coles, Daphne had dramatically come knocking on my door to force me into a tour. I dragged my legs behind them as Mrs. Colson began talking

"The castle was built in 1706 for Admiral Thomas, a gift from Her Majesty Queen Anne..." she starts but Daphne Immediately interrupts

"For his military triumphs against the French, I believe. My younger sister Hyacinth is something of a student of history." she says and I roll my eyes, I was too tired for this shit.

"Very well, Your Grace. Here we are." Mrs. Colson says opening the doors up to the first room

"The morning room, where the former duchess preferred to take tea with visitors." She says giving a smile to Daphne

"My mama suggested I extend an invitation to the vicar first. I believe she is right." Daphne says and Mrs Colson lets out a tight smile again
