I took Lorenzo's hands and I locked our fingers together "I don't think that after six months of dating I'm still considered a stranger, don't you?"
I needed to learn how to be quiet.
The atmosphere was getting tense. Valentina was looking at me as if she wanted to kill me. Eloisa looked at Lorenzo and me, smiling. I turned my face to Lorenzo, his jaw was clenched in anger. I looked down and catch my hand still holding his.
"Oh dear, why didn't you tell me earlier?" Eloisa grinned, breaking the silence "Oh, emmm..."
I give Lorenzo's hands a little squeeze expecting him to get the clue and help me out.
I thought I was helping him by lying, but I didn't know anymore.
"Can we talk outside? I need to talk to Maya" He faces me "in private" Lorenzo finished off.
Are we about to have angry sex?
Eloisa nodded and took Valentina's arm pulling her away. We were now alone and oh boy, he looked pissed.
"You really can't keep your mouth shut" He spoke, maybe trying to be serious but his smile, causing his dimple to make an appearance, gave it away. I chuckled in response "Nope"
Lorenzo crossed his arms around his chest "Dating?"
"I didn't know what else to say, you seemed like you wanted to kill her. Ex-girlfriend?" Curiosity was consuming me.
"Yes," He responded. What was that feeling? I felt a strange sensation in my stomach. Jealousy? I wouldn't have to feel this way, but I still felt it. We are nothing, Maya. I would remind myself of those words from time to time.
I blinked away my thoughts "Didn't end well?" I questioned, wanting to know more about it.
"Not at all" He looked like he didn't want to talk about so I just changed the topic. "So, now what?"
"It was your idea, we may as well just go with it"
An ironic smile spread on my lips "Sure"
I wanted to ask him more about Valentina but maybe another time.
The club was still kind of empty, due that there was some redecoration going on. Eloisa was seated across the bar and Valentina was talking to her. She looked angry and I sort of felt proud that I caused that. I barely knew and I was sure she hated me already.
Lorenzo walked behind me and Eloisa's eyes narrowed as her sweet smile appeared on her face.
This was awkward. I think this will be one of those memories that keep you awake at night of how embarrassing it was.
