When Peter woke up the next morning he instantly ran to the window to check if the girl was still there,  still feeling guilty that he had talked about his great life when she was sleeping outside in only a hoodie. Thankfully he could still see her curled up in a ball and he breathed out a sigh of relief.

He decided that he would go after breakfast considering it was Saturday and he didn't have any homework, something that barely ever happened.

Peter quickly changed, putting his suit on underneath his normal clothes and he exited his room, still wary of seeing Tony around. It upset him knowing he had disappointed his mentor and he was actively going out of his way to avoid seeing him if possible. What if Pepper hadn't explained what happened?

Peter decided to walk on the ceiling, peeking his head into the kitchen, looking for Tony but relieved when he wasn't there. He was probably still sleeping or in the shop, it was unusual for Tony to make an appearance before 12 and it was still morning.

He flipped down off the ceiling, causing the people in the room to jump and he turned around grinning at them, that never got old.

"Jesus Peter, you need to stop doing that," Bucky said while grabbing paper towels to clean up his spilled coffee. The others in the room, Sam, Wanda, and Bruce, nodded in agreement while Natasha who of course didn't flinch carried on reading her book, a smug smile on her face.

"Sorry M.r Barnes" Peter apologized while grabbing an apple from the fruit bowl on the side, biting into it. "Is Mr.Stark awake?" He asked skeptically and the team exchanged glances, they could tell that Peter was avoiding him considering how much of a state they had seen Tony in when Peter wasn't back on time or answering any messages.

Before they could answer Tony walked in, clearly still half asleep."I'm up, I'm up," Tony said, causing Peter to swivel his head around and then look at the floor, avoiding eye contact.

"I'm so sorry Mr.Stark for making you worried about me, I promise that it will never happen again" Peter reassured, finally looking up to see Tony making his usual coffee.

"It's fine kid" He shrugged, making Peter relax "Pepper explained what happened. I'm sorry for lashing out" He offered a small smile before turning around again to resume pouring the water.

"Goodness, did Stark just apologize for something?" Sam said, causing the whole team to laugh and Tony to hurl coffee beans at his head which he didn't manage to dodge.

"Shut up bird-man".

Peter looked around at his family, happiness swelling inside him as he laughed with them until he remembered the girl on the cold roof and quickly stopped laughing, in thought.

"Something wrong Pete?" Bruce asked, noticing the shift in his mood.

"No, I'm fine but I was wondering if I could go out patrolling?" He asked

"Sure thing Pete, just keep in contact this time okay?" Tony said, smiling at the kid while Peter grabbed another apple, putting it in his pocket.

"Thanks, Da- Mr.Stark. Thank you Mr. Stark" Peter ran out of the room embarrassed, had he almost called Tony dad? Did they hear him?

"Did you hear that?" Natasha asked, teasing.

"He called you Dad!"

"Shut up Wilson" Tony proceeded to throw more coffee beans at the man. "FRIDAY did you get that?"

"Sure did Boss"

"Send it to me, and Pepper" Tony smiled at the thought of his kid. Oh god, he was becoming such a Dad.
