While y/n and Paimon chowed down on the food they ordered, Amber and Aether stood together nearby to wait for the rest of the food.

Y/n had made it very clear that she hadn't eaten in days, sacrificing all her catches so that the younger hilichurls could eat and grow strong quicker.

It was clear to Aether that y/n really cared about her Hilichurl family. What puzzled him was that the h/c haired girl denied being Amber's friend yet she was actually somewhat nice to her.

Nice as in not threatening to kill her.

"Amber, can I ask you something?" Aether questioned, gaining the Outrider's attention.

"Sure, what would you like to know?"

"What history do you have with y/n?" Aether questioned, "I noticed that you two seem familiar with each other and after you arrived, she wasn't as..."

"Aggressive?" Amber asked.

"Yes, aggressive." Aether said with a nod.

"Well, y/n and I aren't exactly friends." Amber admitted with a sheepish smile, "To be honest, I think she's tired of me following her around all the time. We met when we were both little, I'd gotten lost somewhere near Dragonspine and was attacked by a group of slimes..."

"G-Get away! Back! S-Shoo! Begone!" a little Amber cried, slowly backing up as a small group of anemo slimes hopped towards her.

Tears pricked at her gold eyes as she realized the slimes wouldn't go away.

She could only cover her eyes, hoping that it was all just a dream and the slimes would go away. As she was losing hope, a shrill voice from the top of the mountain behind her rang out.

"UNU DADAAAAA!"

Amber yelped when something suddenly hit the ground in front of her, dust being kicked up and a wave of heat following the impact of whatever had hit the ground.

She slowly opened her eyes, hearing the sound of joyous whooping within the dust.

As the dust cleared, Amber could make out a girl with s/c skin wearing Hilichurl clothing, holding a claymore in the air.

She was bouncing around and cheering, e/c eyes bright and her messy h/c hair covered in sticks and leaves. Her face was painted and Amber could see scars on her arms, legs, plus a few on her stomach.

"Mi muhe yel! Biat ye dada! Mi muhe yel! Nini-eh?" the girl stopped, staring at Amber.

The burnette girl let out a sob and ran at the other girl who flinched in surprise.

"WAHHHH! THANK YOU SO MUCH!" Amber cried as she threw her arms around the other girl, embracing her.

The other female was stunned and could only murmur a quiet, "Valo..." in reply.

The h/c haired girl cleared her throat before speaking, "Bunny Girl human... yes?"

"Uhm, yeah."
