AFTER A QUICK DISCUSSION THE NEXT MORNING, the reunited friends set off to luna's house to speak with her father, xenophilius. they lived in a strange-looking house that rose vertically into the blue sky— the zigzagging path leading to the front door was overgrown with a variety of odd plants, including a bush covered in orange, radish-like fruits.

"luna." they all murmured simultaneously, gazing at the odd home.

"keep off the dirigible plums?" ron read the sign on the side of the house as hermione pulled the knocker.

"lovely." paris mumbled.

"what is it? who are you?" xenophilius lovegood appeared at the door, staring out at them querulously. "what do you want?"

"hello, mr lovegood?" harry stepped forward. "i'm harry potter. we- we met a few months ago? at the wedding. could we come in?"

the man frowned, before nodding reluctantly, opening the door fully, allowing them to step inside.

"where's luna?" hermione asked, as the five of them sat around the table— each of them holding a mug of tea in their hands.

"she'll be along." xenophilius said quietly, and they all brought their mugs to their lips in an awkward silence. "so.. how can i help you, mr potter?"

"actually, it was about it something you were wearing around your neck at the wedding. a symbol."

the man nodded, lifting up the necklace from under his tunic. "you mean this?"

"yes." harry nodded, examining the peculiar symbol. "that exactly. what we wondered, is— what is it?"

"what is it?" mr lovegood repeated. "well it's the sign of the deathly hallows, of course."
