Haikyuu ~ Mute Y/N Tsukishima

Chapter Thirteen

After getting eating and dressed, you follow the sounds of sneakers until you find the gym. A match was occurring between Fukurodani and a team wearing white uniforms with turquoise accents. You assumed this was that other team expected, Aoba Johsai. Day 2 of your first training camp had begun, and you were ready to take it all in.

You sit on a bench and observe the game, taking notes in your notebook. Once the set ended, someone had cleared the scores already, but based on reaction, Fukurodani took the game.

As you observe the chaos, someone taps you shoulder. You turn and see a boy with brown hair and two different knee pads. You wave to him and smile.

"Yahoo~ Haven't seen you around here before. Have I gotten a new fan girl to visit me at all the highs and lows of my time?" You shake your head and think of the best way of explaining who you are without writing it down.

"Wait, that's a Karasuno jacket. Oh, did Tobio-chan finally get himself a girlfriend?"

You look around and notice your brother was preparing to play the next game, so you didn't want to bother him. Luckily, Yamagucci was walking by. You waved him over apologetically.

"Hey Y/N. Is something wrong Oikawa?"

"I was just trying to be friendly and talk to her but I guess she doesn't want to-"

"No, she just needs someone to help talk for her. You see, Y/N is actually mute, so communicating can sometimes be harder for her" Yamagucci explained and you nodded, showing that what he said was true.

"I see. Then if you don't talk..." Do you know sign language? he asked. Your eyes grew. He could understand you.

You smiled and answered him. Of course. It hurts my hands to have to write in a notebook all the time. You giggled. And to answer you question, no. I'm Tsukishima Y/N, Tsukishima's twin sister. I recently transferred and was welcomed to be a club manager.

Oikawa smiled back at you. Your quite the talkative one aren't you? My name is Oikawa Tooru and I'm the captain of Aoba Johsai. It's nice to meet you. He held out his hand and you took it, shaking it slightly before your brother arrived.

"Hey Y/N. I see you've met Oikawa. Did you need anything before I hop in game?"

"Is Tsukishima actually being nice for once? Now this is tea~"

"Oh, shut up, you flat door. Just because I am helping my sister doesn't mean anything." He is about to open his mouth to say more, but seeing your glare makes him turn away.

I should be okay. The girls said that they can probably let me leave the cafeteria early so I can probably throw in a set or two then if you want!

Kei laughs. "You really did miss that, huh? Well, if others are willing to, I don't mind. If not, the two of us can figure something out, deal?"

"What are you two even talking about? I wouldn't mind leaving lunch early, but I don't exactly know why I would..?" Oikawa starts.

Great, he can read sign, huh? Kei asks and you nod. "Whatever. This is about me and my sister. If we need you, we can call you later."

"But- Hey! Wait a second!" But your brother had already turned and started walking back to the court, waving back to you.

Thanks to you helping Kei last night, and him giving your suggestions to the others, They one the set, 25-21. Bokuto was really annoyed and your team looked so proud of themselves.

They faced Aoba Johsai next and you could see the usual setter you play with tense up at the sight of those players before him. Though you couldn't hear everything they said, you knew it was bothering him.

They lost the first 7 points and the sets were getting more sloppy at a time. You eventually confront write in your note book and approach Coach Ukai.

"You need to pull Kageyama out. I think Suga is a setter too, but if not, put me in..." he read aloud softly. "The point is to let the boys play, otherwise I would love to put you in. Go tell Sugawara to get ready. If Kageyama shows no sign of improving soon, I'll put Suga in to give him a break."

You do so, and after you lose another 3 points, Suga and Kageyama switch out, and the troubled setter sits next to you on a bench.
