Picking up the old letters I realise,
How loveley those times were
Now seeming like a far fetch fairytale
Once it was our story in detail.
Little did I know those were sugarcoated bullets
Wrapped in the fragrance of lavender,
Which you so efficiently delivered
Made me fall for you . How? i wonder.
Intoxicating my life with the caffeine of your dominance
Making me feel like a prisoner behind the bars of your restrictions,
I craved to escape this dungeon of noxious love
Your love wasn't enticing anymore, it was suffocating as hell.
I struggled to free my heart from the handcuffs of your emotions
But those promising words made all my attempts go in vain.
Burying my shrouded feelings deep down
I gathered enough courage to leave the town.
The wetness of my eyes took long to dry
But I was proud of the decision I made
Burning your scented letters I could sense,
The pain you inflicted in me was so strong
That it took me years to heal the wound.
So this I guess a kind of Blank verse or more correctly a mixture of Blank verse and Rhyming . Well, those who wanted me to write without much rhyming ,this is for you all .
But actually it is a contest entry in The Saccharine Writing Contest hosted by 17Mysery
