Y/n found her way into the room she'd been directed to and blinked when she spotted Aether, Paimon and Diluc there.

"Oh! Found you!" she chirped, startling Aether and Paimon while Diluc simply turned his head to look at her in surprise.

"Y/n? What are you doing here?" Paimon questioned then narrowed her eyes, "You wouldn't happen to be with the Fatui, would ya?"

Y/n scrunched up her nose in disgust, "Ew, nye. The Fatui are enemies of me and my family."

"My family and I." Diluc corrected.

Y/n sighed heavily, "Give me a break.."

"Well, Paimon heard your voice outside! You were talking to one of the guards, weren't you?" the creature demanded.

Y/n nodded, "He called me Lady Eira. Mistook me for someone else."

"Are you sure your name isn't y/n but Lady Eira instead?" Paimon pressed, still suspicious of y/n.

The young lady narrowed her eyes, "The fact that you think I have been lying is very stupid. Shut your mouth."

While the duo glared at each other, Aether who had been watching in silence stepped in.

"Hey, I'm sure there's an explanation for this but now is not the time. We have the Holy Lyre, we should get going now." Aether told them though y/n could tell from the way he looked at her that he was also suspicious of her.

Y/n looked at Diluc and felt a little happy that he didn't look at her differently. He seemed a little exasperated but otherwise, nope! Same look!

As they were leaving, y/n felt someone grab her ankle and she looked down in disgust at the man she'd knocked out earlier.

"You're her daughter-!" he exclaimed, "You're Lady Eira's daughter, aren't you!"

Y/n's voice was icy, "I have no mother."

The man barked a laugh, "That Delusion may have killed her but her mistake of a daughter manages to survive!"

Y/n swallowed hard, feeling very uncomfortable. A Delusion? What was that? It didn't sound very good.

"Let me guess! That traitor hid you in a cave within Dragonspine, didn't she? Hoping her dear daughter would find some way to survive and live a life outside the Fatui!" the man continued, "Only for her to come walking right back to us after sixteen years."

"Let me go." y/n's voice was quiet.

Paimon, Aether and Diluc had all taken notice of the man who held the h/c haired girl's ankle. What surprised them was that she didn't immediately resort to violence.

"You must have your mother's vision! Under your cloak, right? It went dull after your mother's death only to resonate with you later on! Marvelous! If you're anything like that woman, you'll be unstoppable-ACK" the man exclaimed but cut off when y/n kicked him again.

"SHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT UP!" she shouted, kicking him over and over again, "YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! YOU DO NOT KNOW ME! YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT ME!"

"H-Hey, Y/n-!" Aether began, rushing over to stop the girl before she killed the poor man.

"Noooo, let her continue! Paimon's enjoying the showw!" Paimon whined.

Aether dragged y/n a distance away as she screamed and kicked. He kept his arms looped under hers to prevent her from lunging at the man again.

"Y/n! Calm down!" Aether protested and yelped when y/n reared her head back, hitting him in the nose with the back of her head.

The force was enough to knock him out cold but thankfully, y/n had calmed down enough not to lunge at the man again.

Her breathing was uneven and there was a hateful look in her eyes but she didn't attack. She was "calm".

"Sorry." she muttered to nobody in particular as she turned away, "I will be at the tavern if you need anything..."

"No you don't." Diluc grabbed she girl by the back of her cloak, "You need to stop running off and hiding whenever you mess up."

Y/n simply went limp with defeat, averting her eyes so she wouldn't have to make eye contact with Diluc.

'Strange... y/n isn't the type to apologize after attacking someone she doesn't really like.' Diluc thought with a small frown, 'What exactly had that man said to her?'

There was no use asking now. The guy was out cold, Aether probably had a concussion and the four of them needed to get going.

So, Diluc carried an unconcious Aether over his shoulder, Paimon and y/n following as they all left the little hideout.

While y/n remained quiet, Paimon looked back at her in slight concern.

'Whatever that man said to her must've hit a nerve... Paimon has a bad feeling about this...'

Rightfully so.

"Welcome back!" Venti exclaimed upon the arrival of the four, "You managed to retrieve the Holy Lyre and-oh!"

The male's eyes brightened, "Y/n!"

The girl gave him a strange look, brows furrowed, "Who the hell are you?"

Venti's heart shattered.

"You seriously don't remember me?"

"Nye."

"I mean-really?"

"Nye."

"You two know each other?" Paimon questioned, looking at the h/c haired girl then the bard with a confused expression.

"Nye." y/n repeated.

"Y/n gives me generous tips whenever she finds me during one of performances! She even fended off a group of thugs who tried to take my earnings once before! You could say that we're friends." Venti said with a proud grin.

Y/n scowled, "Who are you again?"

...

"Y/N, YOU KILLED HIM!" Paimon shrieked when the male flopped on the floor face first.

"Oh."
