i carried you around like a weight
being dragged back and forth in chains
my life revolved around your orders
until i lost the person i once knew
i never knew what freedom was
until i expelled you from my body
locked the door one last time
and washed away every trace
i face my reflection in the mirror
splash the water on my face once more
feeling lighter without you here
but we both know the cycle continues
